This was the most surprising and delightful place of our Euro trip, and the most quiet and secluded. Trees and woodland all around, the handful of houses in the area are almost invisible. The very old farmhouse retains its rustic feel, but has been renovated where it counts, modern bathroom with large shower, modern small kitchen. The three main rooms provide almost too much space for just a couple, with a bedroom, library, and huge dining/living area. Lots of charming touches in the décor, decorations, and furniture around the place. There's no wifi, but considering that you feel absent from the worries of the world, that's actually an advantage! It stayed nice and cool in the southern French summer. Don't expect to play the piano in a normal manner, it's really past it's useful life, but I enjoyed trying anyway. About 5 km from Brantome, with its many attractions and fine food, also not too far from the famous Moulin du Roc restaurant. A good spot to explore the Dordogne area, as we did.
