Thank you. We also believe the cabin has beautiful views and holds the original rustic cabin charm that Erv and Family created when the house was built. Being located on the river and having Leopold Nature Conservatory as our neighbor creates a unique location that we try to capture in the property description. If you review the description, you will see the house is located in the woods.. near a river. Wildlife is nearby. We take all precautions we can including deterrent devices and monthly pest control. We wish you had informed us of the mouse during your stay, we would have been happy to contact Orkin for a weekend service call to make your stay more comfortable and to check for any activity. You will be happy to know we called them out after receiving your review, and no activity was found. Regarding your question as to if the electronics work, we checked and everything seems to be working. Heating to the house is central programmed with a digital thermostat located in the living room. Detailed instructions are located in the guest book as well as the website. Guests are encouraged to adjust the thermostat to comfort. The back room has a heating control as well. No issues were reported during the stay.
We are sorry the two free extra hours after checkout did not meet your expectations. But as you said, it was a late booking and last minute request. Working remotely with neighbors and crews can be constraining but we do our best with advance notice.
In regards to the signs, we do apologize if they are off putting. They are our attempt to be as open and transparent as possible. Having service technicians fix the internet requires a call to Madison that is 40 mins away. Even basic service calls are expensive due to the rustic location and limited local options (and are more than $30.00). As we have had problems in the past with guests unplugging the router, we try to discourage re-arranging of items to protect future guests comfort as well.
And you are right, the views are even better in the summer!
