Your private casita, with its own fenced backyard, is a 45-minute drive to the Death Valley Visitor Center. It is a small space, best for 2-3 travelers, although it has a queen bed, a queen sofa bed and a double sofa bed if a group on a budget doesn't mind close quarters. There is a private entry and small, fenced yard with firepit.
Our space is unique in its proximity to Death Valley: you are literally at the jumping off point. It is a very small home, best suited for a couple. The 2 sofa beds will take up most of the living room, if used, so please consider your space needs. We have an acre of land, so you will have privacy, solitude and comfort to unwind.
Please note that we do have wifi, however it is not lightning fast! It is moderate speed, at best, and can cut out: in rural Nevada, this is the best we have for now.
The kitchen is limited and not meant for serious cooking; it has a microwave, coffeepot, full refrigerator and hot plate with dishware and a few pots and pans.

Please park on the cement driveway in front of the garage and follow the lighted trail to the casita, to the left and southeast of the main house. Our casita has a private entry so you can have complete privacy. Build a fire out in the private backyard and enjoy stargazing: we keep it stocked with firewood. The kitchen is minimalist with a full refrigerator, coffee pot, microwave, hot plate and toaster. There is no oven and is not intended for cooking as much as light meal preparation. We provide coffee and bagels if you need a quick snack: help yourself! The Queen bed is very comfy, the tan sofa bed is softer and a double/full size. The dark brown leather one is a queen-size and quite firm: there is one mattress topper in the bedroom closet which makes it more comfortable. That is where the sheets are located. Let us know if we can do anything to make your stay better! We are happy to make the spare beds up for you if you let us know in time.
Please don't purchase movies on our cable network without leaving payment for them:)
Weitere wichtige Infos
We do not believe in the use of toxic pesticides and do not spray around our property with them. - Check in after 3 pm
- Check out by 11 am
- Please feel free to enjoy our space and help yourself to food and beverages therein (bagels, fruit, coffee, etc). We ask that you leave the space reasonably tidy and in good order when you leave. Also, please let us know of any problems that you have immediately, so that we are aware of them and can assist you. The coffeepot does not turn off automatically, so please shut it off when you leave.
- Quaint glitches:
- The hot water and cold water are labeled backwards in the bathtub.
- Enjoy a nice hot shower at this time, but not a bath, as the overflow drain needs replacing:(
- Please contact us anytime with questions or concerns, as we live in the front house and can be able to help immediately. However, please do not enter our backyard as my dog doesn't know you yet! You, and your pets, can enjoy the separate, enclosed patio off the french doors.
We will be as responsive as possible: texting me at (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) or emailing (EMAIL HIDDEN) is the best way to get hold of me. Otherwise, we won't intrude on your privacy unless you initiate contact. We will try to answer your questions about the area and help you to develop an itinerary if you would like.
My husband and I live a very simple life in rural Nevada, building a cob home by hand and exploring the desert. Five things we can't live without include each other, good coffee, friends, books, hiking, travel, learning new things....(ok, that's more than 5). We are newly empty-nested and trying out our wings; following our whims. As far as travel goes, we are pretty eclectic: we enjoy camping and staying in the lap of luxury depending on the situation.
