A bit of History:
In Europe, ferro cement barges (FCBs) played a crucial role in World War II operations, particularly in the D-Day Normandy landings, where they were used as part of the Mulberry harbour defenses, for fuel and munitions transportation, as blockships, and as floating pontoons. Some were fitted with engines and used as mobile canteens and troop carriers. Some of these vessels survive as abandoned wrecks in the London Thames Estuary; two remain in civil use as mooringsat Westminster. One notable wartime FCB, is now moored in Sakskøbing, Denmark and converted into a comfortable home and we are happy to share it with you on the AirBnB platform. Enjoy your stay on our Ferro Cement Barge.

I love the airbnb concept as I hate wasting resources. We live in Denmark and East-Africa where I work as a doctor and do volunteer work that is mainly sponsored with airbnb proceeds. My wife and I love to travel and interact with people of all walks of life. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
