First floor unit in century old two family in quiet safe dead end street; well lit, modern design with hardwood floors.

Situated between historic Union Square & modern Assembly Square, close to convenient bus routes & 1 mile from Sullivan Square T Stop.

Laundromat & convenience store half a block away.

I work to create a space like staying with an old friend you've never met; casual & relaxed, friendly & open. I've hosted for 6+ years and love meeting new people! My house is your house :)

Die Unterkunft
My space is a modern style renovation in a century old home, decorated with various pieces I've collected in my work travels. The common area is a open floor plan with plenty of space to stretch out, do yoga, or whatever else you need to unwind after long travels. Guests are welcome to use of the yoga mats, blocks, straps, etc.

It is an older house, so during the winter it is kept around 65 during waking hours. In the summer I stay comfortable with the use of fans. Please make sure to review the amenities to make sure my place includes everything you need for a comfortable stay.

I'm less than a mile from Union Square, a major transit hub. Multiple buses going everywhere are a few blocks away and very frequent. Kindly note that Boston has a shared system of bus and rail, not rail supplemented by bus, so don't think of it that way-- we don't. Boston and region regularly scores 3rd - 5th in studies on the quality of public transit systems in USA cities. Somerville shares a border with Boston and is a primary bedroom community for people working there, and so is considered very convenient-- but it's not NYC or London, there's no comparison. Some parts of Boston will take 20 minutes to get to, others may take an hour. Please consult the MBTA website before inquiring to book to confirm your travel needs. I'm less than 2 miles to Harvard University; 2 miles to Davis Square; 2 miles to MIT (all walkable and scenic routes in nice weather, buses go regularly to all); 2 miles to downtown Boston, 1 mile from Assembly Square, 1 mile from Sullivan Square.

Neighborhood is diverse, friendly and safe. Diverse collection of international markets (especially Middle Eastern and Latin American), excellent cafés are pleasant strolls away away (as well as pubs, music and a full range of restaurants). A farmers market operates in Union Square (ten minutes walk) on Saturdays, and there are art festivals and outdoor concerts. Yoga studios, dancing, a large maker space, and a chocolate factory are within fifteen-twenty minutes' walk.

I've lived in the Boston area for more than 10 years and am pretty social, so can direct you to pretty much anything here-- bicycle routes, foodie and art events. If you're traveling in greater New England, I'm also happy to help you plan your trip to get the most out of it.

You may wish to read 'HOUSE RULES' for further info, thanks.

Zugang für Gäste
Guests are granted access to the whole front of the house! This is a spacious open air living room/eating room ( a low slung table with a couch and floor seating), their own private bedroom (measurements 11'x11'), and the bathroom. There is space in the credenza, closet storage, and everything in the room is open for guests to use including a k-cup coffee maker (With organic compostable cups) that also makes hot water.

Since I do not charge for the 2nd guest, it is presumed they are sharing the guest room. If they are not planning on sharing the bedroom space they are charged the standard extra guest fee, nightly, to account for the larger foot print ($25).

For more than a couple sharing a room, my space is a nice alternative to a hostel for people who plan on being out early back late; with extra guests sleep in the spacious common on a foam mattress.

There is a personal fridge in the guest room to store food. Just plug it in if you plan on using it, and unplug and clean it it when you're done.

The back area of the condo is my private space, which is just the kitchen and my bedroom and is not for guests, but the guest room has the aforementioned basic amenities (fridge, hot water, coffee).

I do sometimes give private Yoga Therapy and Thai Massage sessions in the living room, usually during 10 am to 7 pm. Usually guests are out and about during this time. I do my best to work this around the schedule of any guest currently staying, and it hasn't been a problem so far in my years of AirBnBing. I usually see only 3 people a week at home, so it usually isn't any particular inconvenience.

There is an in building washer and dryer available for guests, for $5 a load including organic fabric softener and organic detergent.

If you have any questions about whether or not something is ok, please ask!

Weitere wichtige Hinweise
I have a couple of rescued pomeranians with me, Kuma and Chicken Wing. Kuma is incredibly sweet and friendly and will be really happy to see you, Chicken Wing is too, but it's best to let her come to you and not to sneak up on her. Please let Chicken Wing approach you, she can be startled.

They're pad trained, and the pads are not in the parts of the home the guests have access to, though occasionally accidents happen, they are usually near the pads.

Lage

Winter Hill, Somerville, Massachusetts

I'm tucked away on a little dead end street, which serves as a great launch point to other parts of the city; Somerville, Cambridge & Boston.

The restaurant Sarma recently was recognized by the James Beard foundation, is a quick five to ten minute walk away. They have a lovely tapas (small plate) menu with Mediterranean and Middle Eastern influenced flavors. Right past that is a wonderful family owned treat, Royal Bengal.

There are also some corner markets where you can get basic groceries (And fresh dates!). There is a strong international presence here in East Somerville, with good dining options from Ethiopian to Central American.

I'm a Thai Massage therapist. If you want to know more about that, just look up Thai Therapy by Mary in Cambridge, people love me on Yelp! ^_^ I'm also an avid explorer/traveler/foodie/adventurer! I may also have a dog of ridiculously little virtue, who is also virtuously little. I've been hosting for 6+ years and it's been a trip! I enjoy meeting new people but also am happy to provide crash space for low key guests who want to d

Plenty if I'm around! I'm always happy to share food and stories, tell you my fave places to go, etc.

On occasion friends are over and guests are generally welcome to join in if we're cooking, gaming, etc. It's been cool seeing guests and friends relate over the years, and there's even been some really cool professional connections I've seen happen!
