This bright, airy room with a newer Queen bed has its own exterior entrance. Home-baked goods for breakfast (read our reviews!). Very close to JBLM and PLU. We are centrally located in the Puget Sound area, with Seattle, Mount Rainier and Olympic National Park just an hour away, and Pacific Ocean beaches 2 hours away. We have welcomed guests for one night or up to 3 months. Our organic family farm is waiting to welcome you to a home away from home!

Der Wohnraum

Advent Acres is unique because it is a rural wonderland so close to the city. This south-facing guest room is bright and airy, with a queen-size real bed, a reading nook, and its own exterior entrance for your convenience. A single mattress can be placed on the floor for a family of three. Guests wishing to reserve both of our guest rooms (see also "Vintage Farmhouse: Single Room") would receive a discounted rate of $95 per night for the two rooms for up to 3 people (regular rate for both rooms is $117): $15 additional for a 4th person.

Zugang für Gäste

Guests will have access to the main floor of the farm house. This includes the kitchen, family room, grand living room, and the shared bath. The hosts primarily use the upstairs bathroom when there are guests. The grounds provide a wonderful place for peaceful walking, and a "Poustinia" prayer house for quiet reflection. The wrap-around front porch offers a spot for leisurely breakfasts or lazy evenings.

Interaktion mit Gästen

Brad & Val both work outside the home: Brad's schedule varies from week to week, and Val has a more typical Monday to Friday away-from-home work rhythm. During the summer we are generally around more, caring for our land. We typically will both be present in the evening during your stay. We enjoy visiting with our guests when they are so inclined, but will certainly take our cue from you in terms of the amount of interaction or privacy you prefer.

Weitere wichtige Infos

While there is not a TV in your room, we do have a TV in the common area with satellite connection, as well as streaming (we have ChromeCast) and a DVD player for your use.
If you read our reviews, you'll see we are known for our home-baked goods (particularly granola and other breakfast specialties). We are happy to accommodate dietary restrictions (gluten free, dairy free, etc) as we are able: just let us know.
We are grateful that you are reading about us and our home. Advent Acres is a great story of abundant blessing to us and we would be delighted to share it with you. We have come to embrace our role as AirBnB hosts, and always look forward to our next encounter with new guests! Guests of all nationalities, faiths, races, and sexual/gender identities are welcome here!

We do not drink alcohol or use the now legal drug marijuana. It is our preference that you do not either. Yet we do appreciate the great joy of a cold beer after a long day of hiking at Mount Rainier, so alcohol in moderation is allowed.
Our house and guest-rooms are not "child-proofed" so if you are traveling with small children you will want to be mindful of them at all times they are in the house.
No smoking anywhere on the property. We ask for quiet between 10 pm and 8 am.
We do have an indoor cat. Therefore we can speak about your pets on a case by case basis: unfortunately we are not able to welcome all pets, can only welcome them on a short-term basis. No long-term (more than a few days) guests with pets can be accommodated. Of course, please plan to clean up after your pet, both inside and outside the home.

Ausserdem musst du Folgendes beachten:
Treppensteigen ist erforderlich - 5 steps lead to the main level of the house where the bedroom and bath are located.
Haustier(e) leben im Gebäude - Edgar is our indoor/outdoor cat who is very friendly and will be happy to make your acquaintance, though he is not allowed in the guest room.
Einige Räume werden gemeinsam genutzt - The bedroom is your private sanctuary. The bathroom, kitchen, and other common areas (TV room, living room) are shared with our family.

Great hospitality! Very dog friendly and comfortable place to stay. We felt very much at home and would recommend Brad and Val's place to anyone. Possibly the best apple crisp ever!

The place is very clean, Brad & Val are very nice. Bathroom is a little far away from the room. They have huge yard and garden to walk around. A nice place, well fit for what we need!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and didn't want to leave! Val was amazing as she quickly agreed to host me at the very last minute. I felt safe and very much at home. She provided fruit, granola and yogurt, as well as coffee or juice. The grounds around this beautiful home are well tended and have fruit trees and flowers, as well as a garden. The room was very comfortable - comfy chairs and bed. Her family was so friendly - what a wonderful experience! I highly recommend! Can't wait to return.

Thank you Brad and Val for being wonderful hosts. The stay at the vintage farm house exceeded my expectations. It was truly a pleasure to make your acquaintance and I am pleased to have had the privilege of spending time as a guest in your home. I felt as if I were in a home away from home from the minute that I checked in. I was greeted with a warm welcome and given a tour of the home. I was blessed to be able to break bread with the family and share an exceptional experience with a family which welcomed me into their daily routine. I look forward to staying with you all again in the near future! Truly, thank you for everything.

Nutzerprofil von Brad&ValBrad&Val ist ein Superhost.

Val is a member of the math faculty at Tacoma Community College, with a specialization working with students of all ages and backgrounds who have a particular fear or dislike of math. In her spare time she enjoys various needle crafts, especially knitting, and working on the family's 2-acre farm. Brad's work away from our farm and hosting guests takes him to interesting places. He is an ordained minister and officiates at weddings and assists families with end of life care and funeral /memorial planning. He is a certified golf and track and field coach for Special Olympics. He works on special occasions caring for families as a personal chef and food coach. He also works regularly as a cook in a retirement/assisted care facility. He has a private practice as a spiritual director guiding those who seek to deepen their prayer life. Val & Brad play Scrabble almost daily, and look forward to visits from our college-age sons when we can play other family games. We love to bake. With 90 fruit trees on our land there is always something to turn into a pie!
