Come stay in my beautiful and spacious 1800 sf house, 5-level home with a recently French-country inspired renovated kitchen. Walk to the train, bike in the preserve and shopping outlets/beach are nearby.
A suburban split house, 5-story, 3-bedroom house located in Charming Massapequa Park, South Shore of Long Island.
Enjoy a spacious 1800 Sq ft home that is within easy reach to Manhattan, nestled between the big city and leisurely Hamptons.
Inside our house, we breathe in the clean air and commune with nature, hear birds chirping in the morning with a cup of coffee or tea on hand. The first floor, with the living room/ kitchen and dining room has an open floor plan. There is a skylight in the kitchen with a nest painted above the ceiling, a very cute touch, gives off so much light even in the darkest of winter.
How about breakfast on our deck? That's what we do in the warmer months and it's pure heaven. Our deck is outfitted with 4 very comfortable cushioned chairs and a table, that also serves as a fire-pit in the winter. In spring and summer, our deck is filled with blooming flowers, our front and backyard is landscaped professionally every week.
The house is decorated for casual living, replete with a Tuscan feel, there are tapestries and paintings scattered all over the house that remind us of a time and place and lovingly collected in our travels abroad. The kitchen and den powder room have been painted a trompe l'oeil, are my personal favorites.
The Den, the downstairs area has a large L-shape couch, that's outfitted with a Plasma TV and a treadmill machine should you want to exercise while watching television. There is also a powder room on this level. A folding bed or airbed can be placed in this room (as it is rather large) for additional sleeping arrangements, but we usually like to keep this room as a great room, as a place to relax.
The 3rd and 4th level of the house are where the bedrooms and a full bath are located. The pink room has a double bed, and right next to the bathroom is the single room, and the top floor is where the MBR is located, complete with a slanted ceiling. Very private and a great place to get away from the crowd.
In the living Room is where we have a collection of books, a massive library where you are free to browse any book you like. The house is also an easy 17 minute walk to the train station or a 5 minute drive, should you want to catch the train to the city for the day. You will need a car to get around Long Island, and seeing what the island has to offer. The train ride to the city is an easy 49 minutes.
The house is very close to a Preserve, where there is an 8-mile bike path as well as a path for leisurely walks. Lovely in the fall that's completely surrounded by the splendor of foliage. A must-see.
We've given our home a lot of love and we hope you will respect our home as guests.
Update: Central Air installed the summer of 2014 and a newly renovated kitchen completed by March 2015.
