This beautiful, spacious, terrace cottage is owned by a renowned travel writer & has unique decorations from all over the world - as well as a myriad of books! Cosy lounge, large airy kitchen, garden with great views. Excellent location. Wifi.
This cottage is the UK home of travel writer and author Stanley Stewart -- (website hidden). It is a cosy and charming home with tasteful furnishings and decor from around the world as well as an extensive library. French windows lead from the large kitchen to the garden which is small, a little wild, but much loved. There are beautiful views from the end of the garden southwards towards the Dorset Downs. There is also a small book lined library, a comfortable living room, a bedroom with two single beds and a guest loo on the ground floor. Upstairs is a large landing with a divan or day bed, a double bedroom and a large family bathroom with a bath, a bidet and a shower. The house stands on a quiet road on the edge of an even quieter village. There are plenty of walks from the front door.

Weitere wichtige Infos
This is a fabulous house with character and the feeling of a real home, not a rather sterile rental property. It takes 4 guests in 2 bedrooms but could easily accomodate a 5th guest on an excellent bed in a spacious landing area.
Guests should read instructions, available in the house, to make sure that they understand how things work like the heating, the spetic tank, the parking, etc. Care should be taken with the furnishings and any personal belongings like toys and books. The property is non-smoking but guests are welcome to smoke in the garden. The house is suitable for couples, for families, for small groups of friends but it is not a party house. No parties or larger social gatherings are allowed.
I am travel writer and an author. I was born in Ireland, grew up in Canada but have spent most of my adult life in England. When I am not travelling, I currently divide my time between Rome and the UK.
As well as three travel books, I write regularly for most of the national newspapers in the UK including the Sunday Times, the Daily Telegraph and the Financial Times as well as for National Geographic Traveler in the States. I am a contributing editor at Conde Nast Traveller UK.
I moved from London to Dorset about ten years ago when I bought this cottage. I love it. I travel the world from the Andes to Mongolia but my idea of a holiday is a week or two in Fifehead. Bliss.
