This beautiful three storey Grade Two listed Georgian House has two bedrooms and is situated in the middle of the Monmouth town conservation area within a two minute walk of the town centre and the River Wye walks.

This beautiful three storey Grade Two listed Georgian House is situated in the middle of the Monmouth conservation area within a two minute walk of the town centre and the river. The path alongside the river is part of the Wye Valley walk. The more energetic can walk to Symonds Yat about 4 miles away where there is a selection of riverside pubs. In the town itself there are a number of restaurants and pubs full of character, together with a Waitrose supermarket and any number of individual little shops. Monmouth in 2014 was identified by the Sunday Times as the third most desirable place to live in Britain. It is surrounded by the delightful rolling Monmouthshire countryside, the quaint towns of Abergavenny, Usk and Raglan are within a twenty minute journey and Cardiff is less than an hour away. The house itself is luxuriously appointed and has a separate kitchen, dining room, lounge, bathroom, two bedrooms and a downstairs cloakroom. We are completely flexible over dates however there is a minimum stay of two nights which increases to three for bank holiday weekends, Christmas and New Year. All linen and towels are included in the price. Full gas central heating is installed throughout the house. Although you are not likely to need it an extra touch of luxury is the electric under blanket. The house is Ideal for two adults and two children, four adults can be accommodated.

Great location for Monmouth town centre (but quiet) and to get to the wye valley way for walking. Very easy to check in with a key safe and great value for money. Would definitely stay here again.

Really enjoyed our stay at Roy's house, It was perfect for our dog Derek. A very warm and comfy house (with a really good shower), in a central location within Monmouth, there are loads of dog friendly pubs and cafes which were great. Roy Left some tea, coffee, sugar and milk and even a couple of biscuits which was a really nice touch! In regards recommendations for dog friendly places -The White Swan Court was a very quaint tea room which did cakes, lunches coffees and afternoon tea (which need to be booked prior), and the staff were very friendly and gave my Dog some biscuits and water. I was also pleasantly surprised that Estero lounge allow dogs (their breakfast was great!). A little outside of Monmouth we also enjoyed a gastro pub called The Penault Inn, a little bit in the middle of nowhere, but only a short drive - the food was great and there was a fire and board games which was brill. Roy's house was only a stones throw away from places in the Wye Valley such as Symonds Yat and Tintern Abbey - beautiful places to visit for walking. Would definitely recommend a stay at Roys

The house is in old Monmouth, less than five minutes walk from the Main Street, where there are many good shops, pubs, and restaurants. It is comfortable, well equipped, and despite its central position quiet at night. Parking in the area is controlled but not difficult. We enjoyed exploring the town and visiting the nearby Forest of Dean.

We have just returned from a wonderful couple of days at The Old Butcher's House! The cottage itself is gorgeous with lovely period features, yet modern, cosy & immediately inviting. For us, the location was absolutely perfect! So nice to leave the car for a few days, and go off on adventures with our two huskies! We found Monmouth to be one of the most friendly places we have ever been, & got chatting to someone new everyone few hundred metres we walked! We met a lovely guy who recommended some fabulous local dog friendly places, and we can highly recommend Estero Lounge & The Gatehouse for excellent food in lovely settings, all dogs very welcome! Roy's cottage is located so close to the centre of town, but within a few minutes walk in the other direction you're out in the countryside next to the river. Absolutely wonderful stay, thanks so much Roy!

It’s a fairly nice house, however very small and not very good for socialising. There was nowhere we could relax and talk with each other except for downstairs by the front door. It is in an excellent location, and I suppose this property would be ideal for someone who is only sleeping there and out during most of the day.

I am somewhat surprised by Alexandra’s comments. There is a lounge on the first floor that comfortably seats four people so I don’t understand why it was necessary to socialise by the front door!
