There is one rule - the Golden Rule. Treat our home the way you would like guests to treat your home. Protect wooden furniture and carpets from spills, and don't put anything into our plumbing system that could reasonably go into a garbage can. There is no garbage disposal unit, so all food wastes have to be thrown in the trash. No large parties that could result in damage to the property.

The Mountain House is just as presented. Fabulous views. This 4 BR house was a great fit for our group. More than one indicated their mattress was great! Came here for a football weekend and would like to return for a more quality stay. Larry was a great host and enjoyed a little history about the place and himself.

Right away upon our arrival, Larry was the perfect host. He showed us around and provided the history of the property. The place was clean and had everything we needed. It was like going to our own Mountain House or even a private Bed and Breakfast. Oh and by the way, it was one of the greatest wins in Penn State football history! I always wanted to stay at a place like this for a football game when I hit alumni status. I actually would always notice it on my way to school or on my way home for breaks. I highly recommend the house for its location and its host.

Larry is a terrific host! He was very responsive prior to my stay and met me upon arrival. The mountain house is very clean and the kitchen well-equipped. Playing shuffleboard in the house was also a bonus! The house setting is picturesque, serene, and in an ideal location (15 minute drive to downtown State College). This mountain house is a great place for relaxing, and my dog enjoyed it too!

I was a professor of horticulture at Penn State for 30 years. I've retired and now operate a Christmas tree farm located about ten miles east of State College. I enjoy riding mountain and road bikes, and hiking the mountains around State College.
