The Little Blue House as been set up to be a worry free turnkey from the moment you arrive till the time you leave. It is located on a nice quiet wooded property, easy access and very comfortable.
The Little Blue House is great for a small family, couples, or close friends.
1-5 people maximum can stay comfortably no more.

I respect my guests privacy and will only interact if there is a need. I will usually check in to see that everything is alright by text or email in but I figure no news is good news. If I happen to see you then I will make a point to say hi.

My home is a nice family orientated type rental. It is not a party house, motel, hotel, and not to be treated as such. The home must be returned in the same condition it is given to you. Normal cleaning charges are included. Any damage or excessive cleaning may result in an extra charge.
Some Big No No's
No Smoking in house nor leaving cigarette butts anywhere
No candles in the house
No Fireworks. Not even on the 4th of July.
No Pets of any kind please.
No parties or functions such as weddings, reunions on property.
Please read the house manual carefully as it has most if not all the instructions that go along with the house.

The unit shall be unlocked upon your arrival.
Key: key is on the keychain on the key rack by the front entry door and leave where you find it upon check out. If you lock yourself out call or text and ill tell you the secret place for the spare. The key opens both doors.
The fire pit. Must be attended or put out when you are done with it. There is a BBQ lighter in the drawer in the kitchen. Help yourself to firewood. On occasion there is high fire danger or too much snow and the firepit is unavailable. I will inform you. There is a hose off the back deck and can be used to put out fire after done.
The BBQ is electric spark. When done using turn gas off at the tank.
The lights are photocell by doors They should turn off after 10 minutes.
The lights are kept off outside for the most part. Please keep all lights off as much as possible when not in use or when you leave. It not only helps me keep the rental costs down but keeps the bugs away in the summer months
AC/Heat: Thermostat is in the living room and either can be set to heat or cool just as most at home. In the fall or spring months the windows that have screens in them can be opened only for fresh air. Depending on the time of year it is set to heat or cool and at 68 upon arrival. Feel free to adjust for your comfort.
Neighbors: Ive never had a problem with them so to each his own. Be respectful of them wanting to have fun on vacation as well as you should too.
Games: Feel free to play the games that are left for you just please put away when done.
Electronics The silver remotes are set up to run tvs. 1 tv remote for the bedroom and 1 for living room. They are placed in specific locations so when I do my walk through I can easily spot them so please put them where you found them upon check out.

A back up is at the foothills across the street and the password is foothills.
It is taken out on Wednesday mornings. Please have trash in the can from the house Tuesday night for weekly guests. Blue Garbage can is at the top of the driveway by the road in the 7040 can.
Septic/Well system: This is a private well and septic system which means no water treatment plant so please no large chunks of food, excess bleach or feminine paper, NO Clorox wipes products be flushed or washed down the drain. This is very bad for septic systems.
No personal belongings left behind and please leave the place as close to the condition it was given to you.
You do not need to launder linens or towels but please strip the beds and put all linens and towels in the in the laundry area (DO NOT REMAKE BEDS) please!
All garbage in the kitchen can ready to go to the can outside. Again, The more picking up we do after you leave means considering higher rental rates or additional cleaning charges.
Washer/ dryer: they are "he" washers so not a lot of soap. Clean out lint filter please.
I love pets but mine have never set foot in the place and neither should yours. Thank you.
No candles in the house please.
NO FIREWORKS OF ANY KIND THIS INCLUDES THE PAPER FLYING LANTERNS. YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE IF THIS RULE IS VIOLATED!
No Parking on the grass in the backyard. It is my septic field.
There are assorted toiletries in the bathroom if you have forgotten anything. If you don't need them please leave for others.
There is an Iron and an ironing board for your use as well as a hair dryer in the laundry room. Please unplug after use.
Please don't remove any furnishings from the house.
Check in time is after 3 pm and check out time is anytime BEFORE 11 am Sharp please.
Please do not show up early. Cleaning and any repairs/maintenance are done in this time and showing up early is not acceptable and also goes for check out. We need this time to properly clean for the next guests.
If you have an emergency requiring emergency services call 911 on your cell tell them you are at
7040 S. Dunns Farm Rd. in Glen Arbor and state your emergency.
There is a fire extinguisher in the kitchen

Ideally I would like to be there to greet guests every visit but I work rotating 24 hour shifts so I may or may not be there.

I have lived in the area since 1995. I purchased my home in 1997 and the property next door where the rental home is on in 1999. I framed the garage apartment in 2004. I have worked many jobs in the area most notably Arts Tavern, Glen Lake Fire Department and was a partner in a construction company.
After running the construction company with my friends and business partners for 7 years I finally had the time and a little money to finish it. In 2010 I began to finish the apartment and finally in 2012 I completed it. Every aspect of the building has a story right down to the furnishings. Myself along with a lot of help of friends I got it done.
My goal was to create a place to hide out, relax, unwind and "recharge the batteries" and I hope this is how you feel when you are here....Just Like Home!!
