I stayed in Michele's home for 3 days beginning of September, with temperatures 27° on average during daytime in La Franqui.
My stay was not pleasant for several reasons:
1) It was not clean. There were layers of dirt on the kitchen equipment, the bedding was unwashed and smelly, the coffee machine mouldy, and cleaning equipment was too dirt to use. There were ants everywhere, although this may not be too uncommon in France.
2) It could not be locked properly. Somebody had drilled holes in both the wooden outer and inner door, it looked like the flat was broken into.
3) It was extremely hot. There is no window. You can only get fresh air by opening the front door. The ventilator on the ceiling does not have enough power to generate refreshing air movement. The fridge and freezer are directly next to the beds, and they are so old and big that they produced a lot of heat in the room. There also is a boiler in the bathroom somewhere next door because it felt like one was in a sauna in there.I was unable to sleep most nights due to the heat.
In general, it felt like the flat had been neglected, and to attention had been paid to potential guests wanting to live there.
More general info:
The flat is 15 min on foot to the town & beach, and 20min on foot to the train station. There is a pool that can be used, but umbrellas or chairs are not allowed and it is only about a meter deep. Depending on the neighbours, it can be quite noisy since the flat is part of a resort facing a circle of about 12 other flats. Privacy is limited as those in the pool and the opposite flats can look directly into the whole flat. An elderly lady welcomes you to the flat, she is very nice but only speaks French.
Overall, despite the low price, I would recommend not to stay here, it has certainly ruined my holidays.
