The Cloister apartment has views onto and access into the cloister (URL HIDDEN) suitable for a couple with a child as there's a sofa bed in the living area.
The stone cloisters keep it nice and cool in the hot summer months and cosy at other times.

One the first floor there are 4 bedrooms let on a b+b basis. There is a large sitting/breakfast room for guests which has a library of books and tourist guides for all to use.
Guests in the Cloister apartment may also use this library.
Guests in the Cloister apartment have priority use of the Cloister terrace and barbecue.
We have a rather ancient washing machine and Kate is happy to put guests clothes in it, there are two drying racks in the cloister area.

My father bought this old monastery as a ruin in 1965 and its been home for me ever since, except for 6 years spent cattle ranching in the Argentine.
In 1979 I returned to Portugal to take over the running of the quinta, restoration of the house and planting a vineyard. I met my wife Kate in Porto where she was working as a clothing designer.
In 1988 2 years after the birth of our first child, Sophie we thought it would be fun to rent out accomodation under the Manor House Tourism scheme, a totally new concept in Portugal, to help owners of historical houses like ours with the costs of maintenance.
Many of our guests have become firm friends and return frequently, its really gratifying to know that other people appreciate this place as much as we do.
