“The striking architecture of the Eye Filmmuseum made it quickly become one of Amsterdam’s modern icons. Situated on the northern bank of the River IJ, just opposite Central Station, this cinema, film museum, café/restaurant and cutting-edge event location is a must-see. Eye Filmmuseum is free to visit with the I amsterdam City Card, but for some of the exhibitions there is an additional surcharge.”

“Our windmill tap room is located in the same former bathhouse that also houses our first brewery, right under Amsterdam’s biggest windmill. It opens at 2pm and closes at 8pm every day of the year, including holidays. The majority of beers that we brew are available on tap in this tap room. It’s self-service only so order your drink at the bar and find yourself a suitable spot. In summer there’s also long tables outside on our terrace, and in winter you’ll find shelter between the old bathhouse walls. Of course this place is mainly about the beer but for those who don’t appreciate that beautiful style of drink there are a few wine, juice and soda options. Food wise we offer a basic menu of tasty beer snacks. We selected a few cheeses, sausages and other bites we think go down very well with our beer. It’s self-service here again. You’ll find all the options on the menu at the kitchen. There is no table reservation, so come early or make friends and squeeze in. We don’t host stag parties in our tap room. Opening hours: 14:00 hrs and closes at 20:00 hrs every day of the year, including holidays.”

“The boutiques and exhibitions are worth a visit. The food court is very animated with live music sometimes. The cinema is great, most of the time showing movies in original version. The cafe Belcampo is in the local library and a great place to hang out with the neighborhood community.”

“One of the most popular bars of Amsterdam East, located opposite of the Oosterpark. It's always busy here. Sit down on the wooden benches and before you know it you will be chatting a whole evening with a group of pleasant strangers. Regarding the menu: you do come here for the specialty beer and the fried chicken.”

“There is a lot to see and do in Amsterdam, all depending on your taste. If we were in the neighborhood, you could run into us and other locals at Roest. If the weather is nice, nothing beats Amsterdam Roest (5-10 min walk) at Jacob Bontiusplaats. At an old factory location, Roest has a pseudo beach area, a rough edged arty atmosphere and plenty of cold drinks.”
