Andrew and his GF were a great host/hostess duo. They were extra accommodating and easy to work with. The room was clean, comfortable and just what we needed for a weekend trip!

Andrew and Pina are wonderful hosts and pay very close attention to every detail! They are kind, courteous and very friendly and outgoing. We shared a late night snack with them and great conversation. They have a dog that is adorable but apparently kind of picky, so just be aware of Kimchi (the dog) and his attitude. ;)

Andrew's home was very inviting, and Andrew was terrifically accomodating in accepting me and my pup as a last-minute booking. Only because I arrived late in the evening after a hectic day, I did not have an opportunity to visit with Andrew and his girlfriend. The accomodations were exactly as described. I only wish I could have had more time to relax on the spacious front porch. I will definitely book here on my next trip taking the southern route to Fort Worth.

Andrew and Pitna were wonderful hosts. Their home is incredibly beautiful and cozy, and they were great to get to meet and talk to. I'd be more than happy to stay with them again or host them if they ever passed through my neck of the woods. Would strongly recommend them to anyone visiting Birmingham.

Andrew is a great host, the place is nice and quiet and Birmingham was a real discovery. Walk up the falcon trail is closed off near the statue, but still worth a nice morning walk.

I had a very restful stay with Robin and her family. I ended up spending quite a bit of time relaxing in the room and was very comfortable. My hosts were beyond accommodating, picking me up from the bus station and inviting me for morning coffee. I enjoyed chatting with them and being social, but never felt like obligated to do so. It was a very pleasant stay.

The location is close to UAB and Five points south. Robin and her husband are wonderful hosts. Offered me drinks, breakfast. We had good conversations about various topics. They have two sweet dogs. If you are a dog lover its the best place for you. Otherwise they won't bother you.

The location was very good - just a short cab ride to restaurants and night life. Our room was cozy with a large closet and bathroom too. Robin and Haynes provided us with helpful tips about things to see and do in Birmingham. Their dogs were also very entertaining.

The room had great old style charm and the description was accurate. I spend there altogether 4 days for residency interview at UAB and to explore the city. It's 20 minutes walking to UAB, and another 20 to downtown (there is a bus shutle going from north to south and this can help to get closer). The area looked good and safe to me. Robin and her husband are welcoming and cheerful people who were willing to help. They enjoy reading and history so we openly discussed some cultural, historical and medical topics and perspectives, which I've enjoyed. Definitely would like to go again and can recommend.

The stay was awesome! Very private area, and very safe neighborhood. The garage is attached to the basement with a separate door- come and go as you please. I was in town for grad school, so most of my time was spent at UAB. It was everything advertised.

We stayed at Kripal's home for three nights while we were in Birmingham. Pros: The neighborhood is nice/clean, there was plenty of space, nice couch/tv, the ability to pull our car into the garage, separate entrance to the space. Cons: Noise - lots and lots of noise. This space is in the basement of Kripal's home - and the noise was significantly louder than expected. On our first night, after 10hrs of driving to Birmingham, we were treated to loud stomping and running across the floor of the home until after midnight, despite a message telling our hosts we were going to bed (at 11pm). The noise continued for the rest of our stay - it sounded as if everyone above us was walking barefoot and stomping on their heels, running from room to room, and bouncing a ball on the floor at one point. I sent two more texts during our stay concerning the noise - receiving a response of "It's my kids." and no reduction in the noise. It was simply unacceptably loud when guests are paying to stay in your home (and trying to sleep). The bed was also very worn out, the mattress appeared to be 20+ years old, the pillows flat, and no sheet provided (we arrived to find an old comforter on the bed for bedding). This is not a listing I would book again.

I stayed for five nights for a work trip. The accommodations were just fine. It is a clean, furnished basement with a bed, mattress, TV, private bath. Spacious room with direct garage access. *Warm fridge, microwave. Just be aware that this is indeed a basement of a young family, so dinnertime can be quite loud with running footsteps heard overhead. Not a major issue. Overall good experience!

Eben and Amanda were excellent hosts. My friends and I were in town for a football game, and our hosts went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome. The space was perfect for our group (4 adult males). The neighborhood has tons of character and is close to anything you'd need Birmingham.

Amanda's place is wonderful. It is clean, convenient and exactly as described. Personally we like the fact she allows pets. We have a Newfoundland and he requires lots of space. Both humans and animals are well accommodated at Amanda's. We cannot wait to stay here again!

Amanda'a apartment is perfect. It's huge (I was only there for a night, but if you are planning on an extended stay, the roominess of the place would make several nights away from home much more comfortable), close to anything you need in Birmingham (I needed to spend most of my time in Mt Brook and the Southside, this spot is central to both), cozy and hip. Amanda was an excellent host and I will look for this listing the next time that I am in Birmingham.

Amanda's apartment is the best place to stay in Birmingham. It is perfect in every aspect. It is conveniently located near Avondale and it's great restaurants. The apartment is huge and has everything you need for certain. Plenty of supplies in the huge kitchen. Including local beer in the fridge, coffee, tea, cocoa, Hershey kisses, every type of dish, glass, utensil, kitchen appliances you could ever need. Full washer and dryer with supplies, plenty of linens and towels, dad's, games, books for adults and kids and space. Lots of space. Amanda is very attentive to messages and quick to reply when needed. I will definitely be back the next time I am back in Birmingham. Thank you Amanda.

The listing description was accurate. It was very clean and neat. Amanda was very accommodating and graciously allowed us an earlier check in so that we might get to our convention on time.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Amanda's house for two days and the experience could not have been more ideal. The place is spacious, sparkling, and well-appointed with awesome furniture and a lovely book collection. Amanda is a pro host—quick to answer any questions and made sure we felt at home. This was my first airbnb! I can definitely say it was positive experience. We wanted a quiet, private stay and they made it happen!

I felt right at home here, Amelia was so welcoming! I was lucky enough to be invited to join a delicious home cooked dinner with her and her other guest. It was a great environment to hang out with new people and also have some quiet time. Amelia is great to talk to and to learn from about what's going on in the area. Close to Birmingham which I unfortunately didn't get to explore this time around.

I booked 5 nights with them but my plans changed and had to cancel at the last minute. They were very nice about it and communication was prompt.

Mustafa and Sheyda are possibly the most welcoming people that I have ever had the pleasure of staying with. In all the hotels and B&B's I have stayed in, I have seldom experienced the hospitality that was shown to my wife and I during our time in their home. Sheyda is truly passionate about being the best hostess she can be and making you feel at home and it shows. My wife and I honestly wish we could have stayed longer and will do our best to return to Birmingham, if only to stay Mustafa and Sheyda again.

Stay here if you're in the area!! We arrived very late from being on the road and Sheyda and Mustafa were up and ready to welcome us into their home. It's a cute little place with the most comfortable bed ever!! Not to mention, we woke up to fresh fruit! First let me say how beautiful Sheyda spirit is. She was so excited of my arrival. I received a message within 20 minutes of booking the room thanking me. You could tell how much thought she put into her Air BNB business on how well prepped the bedroom and bathroom was. WARNING!! the bed is soooo comfortable. I over slept and had to rush to work. That bed alone deserves 5 star. After I arrived she made me evening tea and made me homemade Turkish cookies. (Btw delicious!) the only downfall was she was booked solid the rest of my trip so I couldn't extend my stay. I can't say enough good if this lovely couple. They definitely made me feel at home. Thank you two for the hospitality you provided.

I was in and and out pretty quick in the evening then the next morning, but Robin greeted me warmly and the accommodations were quite comfortable. My travel plans were somewhat tentative and Robin was very flexible in that respect. Other reviewers mention something like "great place if you like dogs." Perhaps it was because I arrived later in the evening, but I had no contact with their (seemingly very friendly) after (s)he greeted me at the door. Robin's place feels like home. It's a cozy two story house in a leafy neighborhood on a hill, which is walking distance from the University, Vulcan Park, and the trendy South Five Points area. She has a big beautiful porch. It's the perfect place to rest and come and go during adventures in Birmingham. Robin was very sweet but also respected privacy. I really appreciated that she let me know who else would be staying while I was there right when I arrived. Stay at Robins for a cozy room that feels like home!

Robin went out of her way to help me when I got lost in the pouring rain, which I really appreciated. The house and room were pleasant and nothing was ornate or fussy. The ac in the room was on the noisy side. I had a major problem with Haynes' criticism that integration of the schools and other public facilities was responsible for the current problems of Birmingham. This runs counter to some of my deeply held beliefs, not to mention that it seems to be in opposition to the laws of our country. This was disturbing and made me wonder what happens if a person of color ever attempted to rent a room here.

We liked the house so much, instead of going out around town Saturday morning, we just spent the morning relaxing on the beautiful porch. With a complimentary loaf of fresh bread, jam, and butter, it was easy to do! A lovely home with such nice, welcoming personal touches.

Angela's home suited our needs very well. Fresh sourdough bread and jelly for breakfast was a nice touch. The lounge area was comfortable, although there is no sink to clean dishes if you needed to. The two bedrooms upstairs are comfy and cozy and easily accommodate 2 per room. The bathroom is on the second floor. The house is next to a United Way facility. On a windy night, the flag in the adjacent parking lot clanking against the post made it a little inconvenient going to sleep. Angela accommodated our needs very well. We'd consider them again!

We stayed here while in town for a show at the Alabama Theater. This was a perfect central location. We love all the personal touches from the homeowners!

We had a very cozy stay at Lindsay and John's eclectic home. We were a group of six and fit comfortably. The house was very clean. Everything in the description is accurate. The house is in a great location and the house manual provides great advice on nearby spots. Lindsay even set aside some breakfast foods for us. Our only disappointment was not being able to use the fire pit. The house was not ready at check in, but she did allow us much appreciated extra time upon checkout. Great experience.

Lindsey's humble abode was hands down our most favorite Airbnb stay. She left us a detailed of note of where everything was in the house along with leaving us with some breakfast favorites like bagels and eggs, which we were very thankful for. Aside from the added goodies the house was very well put together and filled with so much love and comfort. We were even able to text her and ask her about the best place to grab beer around town, and she gave us a phenomenal recommendation, that we are super happy we checked out. Overall, we are so happy we ended up at this airbnb and hope to stay there again down the road!

First, this location is fantastic. In a quiet residential friendly neighborhood in walking distance from wonderful park, restaurants, brewpubs, cafes, ice creamery, etc. Second, Lindsay is a warm and personable host with great communication and generous spirit. The main bed is super comfortable. A visually and energetically creative spot to stay!

I came to town to attend the Sloss Fest Music Festival and was looking for somewhere close and safe. This house is right in the middle of the hip Avondale area and was super convenient to the festival and the neat things to do in the 'Portland of the Magic City'. The house is really cool, with colorful art throughout. I had everything I needed to have a great weekend. Thanks Lindsay and John!

This was a great space in an amazing location. You can probably tell from the photos that this is someone's actual home. It was very spacious and comfortable for three of us. The sofa in particular is very cozy. It is not clear from the listing, and some might like clarification on this, one of the rooms with a bed does not have a door. It was not a problem for us, and I still would stay again, but knowing going into it would be nice. Great water pressure in the shower (matters a lot to me) and plenty of parking. We were able to walk to several food and drink locations. Nothing seemed too far away. Lindsay left food for us but we ended up eating out.

Andrew was an excellent host. He was extremely accommodating. We had a small RV that he let us park in his driveway. He also was a lifesaver and let me use his laptop when I had a deadline to meet. He is relatively close to a college campus where there are lots of stores, restaurants and a few bars, if that's your thing. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Andrew was kind . I got there before he was home and used his key to get checked in. He did not have a issue welcoming me when he returned. At first I was a little creeped out by all of the stuffed animals in the room so I just laid them down. Both my friend and my sister where a bit creeped out by the voodoo looking bears but like I said we just prayed and put them face down. The bathroom has a toilet in one room and s shower and sink in another. All amenities (towels, soap ) were there. I felt like his place was homely for sure. At night I sat on the porch swing undisturbed. The bed is just big enough for two people and it makes noise when you move, however it's comfortable. The area is nice and easy to find in daylight. At night it will be harder. If you have big bags beware that there are tons of steps to drag your things up outside and the room is on the second floor. Overall a God safe stay, every thing worked out well!!

Andrew's place was great. Clean, comfortable, nice location. I stayed in Cozy Room 2. It was spacious and the bed was super comfortable. That room has a shared bathroom with Andrew's roommate, but it was never an inconvenience. Andrew and his girlfriend came out with me one night and showed me around town. I'd definitely stay again.

The place is basic but good value. He is an excellent communicator and Andrew's place is as described - the free parking and clean bathroom were both appreciated. Thanks again Andrew!

My HONEST review - overnight stay, going to a concert and this place was in the right location. Although we communicated before and day of arrival the host Andrew was not ready for us. His dog was doing what dogs do, protecting the place and we were not allowed entry until the host arrived. I was afraid. Andrew a nice guy knows my thoughts and I have communicated my suggestions for a more enjoyable stay. I could overlook many things - Kimchi, the dog- I can't overlook, I have 2 fur babies, dogs and love them. And the need for attention to the bedroom ceiling addition - locks and closures to bathroom, front door and toilet door are must happen repairs. Everyone wants to feel safe and comfort esp. when away from home - I was disappointed that I didn't get to experience either - but, with attention and time by the host everything is possible. I am a host (super host) and wish only the best for this host.

Dale's tree house is just amazing. It is very clean, spacious and cosy. It is the ideal place to go if you are visiting the Birmingham area. Moreover, Dale is a great host. He was very kind in helping us out with a bigger pot to cook pasta and he leven et us wash our clothes in his house! Besides that, it is just great talking to him because he is sich a nice person. Stay at Dale's place - you won't regret it!

Beautiful, private apartment that's very comfortable and accessible. I had business downtown which only took 15 minutes to get to.

Dale was a prompt and informative communicator and we truly enjoyed our time at the Treehouse. There were interesting books on the shelf and the amazing essential oil products in the bathroom was a nice surprise. Having coffee on the deck listening to the birds and the wind in the trees was a welcome change from the palm trees and lizards we're used to in Florida.

Dale was very welcoming and had great recommendation on local events and music!

I came to Birmingham for the Mercedes marathon weekend. Although this home is about 20 minutes from downtown, it is an easy travel. Dale was very helpful and flexible with my schedule. This space is very comfortable and stocked with everything you would need. I would highly recommend this space to anyone traveling through the area and will definitely be back!

I loved the Treehouse! It had a lot of character with wooden floors and wainscoting throughout, granite kitchen counter tops and beautifully finished bathroom. There is tremendous privacy and I felt as if I were alone in the woods. To top it off, Dale is the consummate host: yogurt and bottled water in the refrigerator, fresh produce basket, attention to detail and most of all, friendly southern hospitality. 5 stars!

Perfect 2 bedroom centrally located in Avondale. Quiet neighborhood but not too secluded. Emma’s house is super stylish and comfortable. Every room has a great vibe. We especially enjoyed the screened in porch and back patio. There’s lots of privacy in the big backyard. Great kitchen too. Highly recommended!
