Ein wunderschöner Aufenthalt mit sehr herzlichen Gastgebern. Alles war sehr sauber, direkter Zugang zur Bucht, perfekt. Vielen Dank, Rosemary und Bobby für eure Großzügigkeit! Wir haben die Zeit bei euch in vollen Zügen genossen und werden immer daran zurückdenken.

I cannot say enough great things about our long weekend at the River Birch Cottage. I have never heard of Moon, VA before but what a small treasure we stumbled upon. As far as Rosemary and Bobby they were wonderful. Prior to arrival and during our stay they were both very responsive. The cottage is as cute as it looks in the pictures and there were fresh cut flowers everywhere which I loved. Everything we forgot they had (ex. Half and half, local coffee, shampoo, bug spray and so much more) but if you forget anything there is a Food Lion a few minutes away. While we were there we kayaked to Gwynns Island and explored Billups Creek. Rosemary and Bobby recommended Southwind Pizza and let us know they have live local music on Thursday nights which we did not pass up. The pizza and beer were good, a little pricy. They also recommended Island Seafood which is a great place to go to get local caught fish and grill at the cottage. Bobby was kind enough to let us use his fishing rods, taught us how to clean a fish and Rosemary came down to the dock and taught us how to pan fry the fish. Their dog Buddy will become your instant friend. I could go on and on but I'm sure you get the point. If you are looking for a weekend away from the hustle and bustle give this cottage a try. You won't be disappointed.

The cottage and scenery all around are just gorgeous. I can't say enough good things about this little home. Very cozy and has everything you can possibly need or think of. We loved coming back from a busy day and just relaxing on the dock and looking up at the stars or drinking our morning coffee on the balcony and watching the sun rise. Rosemary and her husband are very easy to communicate with and very welcoming. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful stay! Very scenic and comfortable place, Rosemary was very friendly. Everything we needed was provided. Loved hanging out on the outdoor patio and sitting by the water. The night sky is really beautiful from this location as well.

Our stay at Rosemary and Bobby's cottage was the perfect weekend getaway from the city. Located a short drive outside of Mathews VA, the property is idyllic and has a beautiful view over looking the water. We spent most of our time fishing on the dock. Bobby was very generous with his time, showing me how to properly spool my new reel and teaching us about the creek system. The cottage itself is lovely, clean and very well stocked. We took advantage of the warm weather and the grill, and ate all our meals outside. We also ventured into town and explored the public beaches. Mathews is a cute town and perfect for those who love antiquing. The public beach was quiet and great for bird watching. We couldn't have asked any more of Rosemary and Bobby. They are both such lovely people and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Can't wait to visit again!!

My boyfriend and I absolutely LOVED our anniversary trip to Rosemary and Bobby's amazing waterfront little cottage. Anyone would be lucky to stay here, it was incredibly clean and comfortable! It had everything you'd need for a relaxing extended weekend, and the views off the porch and down on the dock were incredible. They were so extremely generous as hosts, allowing us to use their fishing poles and kayaks, and even providing bait for the fish!! We so appreciated everything. They made it a priority to make sure we felt at home the entire stay, and with everything provided in the rental we most definitely did. We recommend the White Dog Bistro as a fancy dinner out, and definitely check out the pizza at Southwind. You will not be disappointed with this perfect retreat by the bay :)

This cottage is a true hidden gem! It is perfect for a weekend of relaxation, enjoying the beautiful scenery of coastal Virginia, and all that the river and bay have to offer. Rosemary and Bobby were perfect hosts. From the moment we arrived they made sure we were taken care of, providing us with a clean cottage, food recommendations, kayaks, and even shared fresh steamed blue crabs from their crab pots. We had a wonderful stay at this cottage. We didn't want to leave and will surely be back!

Pat & Dennis were amazing hosts. They were constantly available to answer any questions we had and went out of their way to provide an absolutely amazing experience. The rental was amazingly clean and well furnished and is located in a quiet & peaceful area right on the river. The entire area is very scenic and the local area businesses are both historic & family friendly. Pat & Dennis provided us with all the information on the local area as well as advice on local businesses and places of interested. There is even an informational folder for guests on the coffee table which has all the info you could possibly need. It was a nice surprise when we arrived there a few days before Christmas that Pat & Dennis had gone the extra step and provided us a Christmas tree and decorations, as well as coffee, creamer, and fresh muffins. The rental was spacious & comfortable, with great internet wifi, cable TV, and a generous selection of board games to keep the family entertained. After using Airbnb several times previously, I can honestly say this was our best experience so far. Thank you Pat & Dennis.

An incredibly immaculate property! Very comfortable and we'll stocked accommodations. It is in a quiet area with beautiful scenery and on the water. They have a nesting osprey nearby. Dennis & Pat are wonderful welcoming hosts who were accessible for questions and suggestions. They are from the area so it's great to get ideas for places to visit and dining. I look forward to my next visit!

Pat and Dennis have a lovely, quiet, private guesthouse over the garage, separate from their house. It's spacious, clean, cozy and quite welcoming. It's tucked away in Urbanna but only a 20 minute walk to the marina. Pat and Dennis were very friendly and helpful and it was great to be able to go out on their little pier in the mornings. Also appreciated the use of their beach towels and chairs!

Pat and Dennis couldn't be friendlier! They notified us ahead of time with restaurant suggestions and activities going on in town. They met us when we arrived, showed us the apartment and invited us to use their dock if we would like. The apartment is newly renovated, very clean and comfortable. The water side of their property is beautiful. We love being there!

Das Appartement war sehr schick und gemütlich. Dianne tauchte aus, um uns zu wissen, dass sie für alles, was verfügbar war wir brauchten, und dann war sehr respektvoll unserer Privatsphäre. Anfahrt und Eintritt Zugang waren einfach.

Unser Aufenthalt im Diannes Ort war sehr angenehm. Wir waren von der Wohnung und Dianne war sehr empfänglich für unsere Botschaften.

Sehr schönes Hotel wie Unterkünfte mit einem vollen Kühlschrank, gut ausgestattete Küche und eine gute Größe Badezimmer. Sehr sauber und schön in einem Strand Thema dekoriert, ohne kitschig zu sein. Dianne ist hilfsbereit, ohne aufdringlich zu sein, aber ich empfehle sie als Leitfaden für Ihre Kajak-Expeditionen mit. Sie kann alles, was Sie für erfahrene oder Anfänger Kajaker benötigen bieten und ist sehr gut informiert über die Gewässer.

Dianne was so easy to book with! Her place was just what we were looking for for an early morning boat out to the New Point Comfort Lighthouse! We also really appreciated her flexibility with check in/check out times and how communicative she was. We would definitely stay here again!

Erin Haus ist eine perfekte Lösung, wenn Sie nach einem ruhigen Ort mit Privatstrand in einer faszinierenden Punkt Virginia suchen. Das Haus gehörte die wenigsten Uferpromenade Optionen in der Ostküste, vielleicht ein bisschen weit von der nächsten Stadt, aber dafür ist es sehr günstig und ruhig, so dass Sie den ganzen Strand für sich selbst und einige Nachbarn haben. Es gibt auch einen Garten, wo Sie ein Barbecue genießen. Wir schätzen auch die Möglichkeit Strandmaterial zu verwenden (Spielzeug, Stühle, Sonnenschirme ...) Wir haben Erin nicht persönlich treffen aber die Komunikation war einfach und sie ein Problem über die Klimaanlage (von uns provoziert) gelöst sehr schnell. Sie war sehr umfassend, welche sehr importantant für uns ist, wenn man bei jemandem zu Ort zu bleiben. Wir hatten tolle Momente am Strand und Erin Haus absolut jedem empfehlen.

We had great weekend when we stay there!

We stayed at Erin's place for two nights. The room was clean and equipped with everything we needed. There was no TV but internet was fast enough for Youtube to entertain our son. Checking in was smooth and easy. The house is in quiet neighbors. Very friendly and kind. We highly recommend Erin's place!

What a fantastic time we had staying in Erin's place. This was the PERFECT place for our little family. Our daughter (2 1/2) had a fantastic time on the beach and so did we! The new bathroom remodel was fabulous! The people living in the community are friendly and down to earth. We were able to make our own meals, though we did go to the nearby Great Machipongo Clam Shack a few times and we highly recommend if you like fresh seafood! We did drive down to Cape Charles one afternoon. There are lots of little shops and stores to buy souvenirs (just don't go on Tuesdays, lots of stores closed that day). I think the best part was that we felt at home there. It was nice to vacation in a spot that was not overrun by tourists (and people in general). Erin's place was great, we didn't need her while we were there, but I'm sure she would've been accommodating if we had! We will definitely be back!

I had a wonderful time at Erin's apartment. The whole experience was perfect and so relaxing. We basically had the whole beach to ourselves the whole time. The apartment is as stated and the views from the Windows are pretty spectacular. The water in the house does have sulfur in it however so make sure to bring a little extra water with you if that bothers you! I would definitely stay here again!

The apartment is basic, no frill but clean and comfortable. The best thing about this place is its location. The beach is about 50 feet away from the apartment, so convenient that we could go back into the apartment for a snack, and be right out. The water is shallow and in early June is as warm as that of outdoor swimming pools. The sand is silky, having no pebble, rock which we enjoyed walking in the water with bare feet. The sunset on Chesapeake was fantastic. Because the area is under-developed, supermarket, and restaurants are about 10 miles away. We recommended the Great Machipongo Clam Shack. Try fried oysters, and crabs because they are harvested fresh locally. Since there was no residential trash pickup, we had to take our trash to a refuse station about 4-5 miles away at the end of our vacation. Not bad. We got along great with the family in the main house. They were so nice to invite us to 8-course dinner! We could not thank them enough. The locals were very nice too. We had a great time and would like to be back.

What a perfect little getaway for a quiet, relaxing vacation. It was just the right size for our little family of three. Having a toddler and being within walking distance of a safe, clean beach was a huge plus. Before we checked in Erin let us know there were some issues with the keypad. I accidentally locked the key inside (Erin had warned us there was no spare). I was able to contact Erin and let her know. I felt so terrible! Luckily we were able to get inside without calling a locksmith. There were plenty of toys in the garage, and we enjoyed having a grill one night for dinner. Oh and the sunsets over the bay are amazing!

Wir haben schnell festgestellt, dass die Aktivitäten auf der Baustelle waren endlos. Der schöne Strand war ruhig und sofort erstellt eine entspannte Atmosphäre. Wir sonnen, lesen und Kajak. Am Nachmittag experimentierten wir mit dem ATV vor der Rückkehr an den Strand. Beobachten Sie den Sonnenuntergang am Strand war absolut ein Erlebnis aus dem Paradies. Am Abend schlossen wir uns Christi, Rick, Denice und Doug für leckere Hamburger, Bier mitgenommen frites, frischem Krautsalat und für rotem Samt Kuchen sterben! Rick Einrichtung einer schönen Lagerfeuer, die mehrere Stunden dauerte. Wir aßen Frühstück (Speck, Wurst, Eier, Gebäck und Marmelade) mit Rick und Joey, später am Morgen, entspannt links und gut ausgeruht. Paul kommen gerade aus dem Ausland zu arbeiten und ich habe mit der Arbeit und Graduiertenschule sehr gestresst. Ich wollte die Kritik von Ihnen, falls laufen Sie, dass wir etwas hinzufügen sollte. Lassen Sie mich wissen und wir werden es sind! Mein Freund und ich leben in New York City und wir waren auf der Suche nach einem Ausweg aus der Stadt; Thelma Dawn war der Rückzug wir brauchten! Christi und Rick waren so gastfreundlich. Wir kamen etwas spät, aber sie hatten eine erstaunliche Abendessen von Fisch und Brokkoli aus ihrem Garten auf uns warten; sie hatte sogar eine Platte mit deviled Eier, die wir später in der Nacht genossen und am nächsten Tag! Christi zeigte uns das Eigentum und uns für den Abend. Der Ort, wo wir wohnten, war perfekt. Wir hatten Privatsphäre, aber wir konnten leicht Kontakt Christi jederzeit für alles, was wir brauchten. Das Zimmer selbst ist eher wie ein Studio-Apartment. Es gibt einen Mini-Kühlschrank / Gefrierschrank in den Wohnräumen, sowie eine viel größere Kühl- und Gefrierschrank in einem anderen Bereich, der leicht zugänglich ist. Es gibt auch eine voll ausgestattete Küche mit allem, was man zum Kochen braucht. Es gibt WLAN, Kabel-TV, und das Bett und das Bad waren sehr komfortabel. Der Grund, warum mein Freund und ich diesen Ort gewählt, weil wir die Idee von allen Aktivitäten gern einbezogen werden. Wir sahen uns an ähnliche Airbnbs in der Gegend und wir wählten dieses, weil es keine zusätzlichen Kosten für den Kajak, war Angeln, Strand Brände etc. Wir Geld auf jeden Fall gerettet, weil Christi gab uns die kostenlose Nutzung von allem auf dem Grundstück. Mein Freund und ich wollte es tun alles; wir gingen Kajak, crabbing, Angeln, und wir nutzen die Feuergebiete gemacht (es gibt drei! Sie können am Strand ein Feuer haben, in der kleinen Feuerstelle oder in der großen Feuerstelle Bereich). Christi uns alles erklärt. Wenn wir zusätzliche Hilfe wollte, ging sie aus dem Weg, dort zu sein und uns Unterstützung zu leisten; wenn wir ein bisschen mehr Privatsphäre, sie vorausgesetzt, unabhängiger zu sein und haben wollte. Der Strand selbst ist erstaunlich! Ich kann den Strand genug schwärmen; es ist sehr abgelegen und unglaublich schön. Mein Freund sah Delfine und es gab Fischadler herumfliegen. Es gibt auch einen Golfwagen zur Verfügung gestellt, dass Sie sich herumfahren kann, und es gibt einen großen Supermarkt innerhalb von zehn Minuten mit dem Auto. Die Gegend selbst ist sehr freundlich und wir hatten das Glück, ein paar von den Nachbarn zu treffen. Ich kann wirklich nicht dieses Hotel genug schwärmen. Christi und Rick waren die perfekten Gastgeber. Es war eine tolle Reise und ich freuen uns darauf, es zu machen von der Stadt für eine weitere Flucht dort wieder nach unten.

Christi war sehr einladend und freundlich. Sie zeigte uns rund um die Immobilie und bot die Verwendung eines Golf-Cart. Wir kamen gerade rechtzeitig für den Sonnenuntergang und es war großartig.

Christi und Rick ging darüber hinaus unseren Aufenthalt unvergesslich zu machen. Sie begrüßte uns mit einer kleinen Tour, sowie einen frischen Fang von Krabben, die wir genießen können, wenn wir es uns gewünscht - was wir haben! Sie hatte den Golfwagen im Falle aufgeladen wir wollten, es zu benutzen, und erlaubt uns ihre Angelruten, Hängematte, Kajak und Paddel Bord zu leihen. Der Strand war ein 60-sec. zu Fuß entfernt, ernst. Sie wies darauf hin eine Reihe von Snacks in unserem sehr heimelig Zimmer, kalte Getränke im angrenzenden Hauswirtschaftsraum, eine Waschmaschine und ein Reinigungsmittel und sogar eine Eismaschine, die wir willkommen waren ohne zusätzliche Kosten zu nutzen. Ich sage nicht, jeder von diesen Dingen zu erwarten, wenn sie nicht in der Halle Beschreibung sind; aber ich habe die Drift, die sie über den roten Teppich ziemlich regelmäßig ausrollen. Ihr Gästebuch war voll von Bewertungen von früheren Gästen sprudeln die seit einiger Zeit wieder nach hinten kommen hatte. Die Einrichtung war ein bisschen / rustikal datiert, als wir erwarten würden, und an jedem Beachy Ort genießen, aber ich schätze auch spezielle Extras wie eine frisch gewaschenen Bettdecke - nichts, was wir immer in einem bnb haben. Es war ein wenig schwer, sich vorzustellen, wie sie schnell Turnarounds zwischen Gästen verwaltet werden - wir am Nachmittag früher am selben Tag kam die ein Gast abgereist war. Wir hatten das Gefühl frei zu kommen und gehen - sie zusammen nicht aufdringlich zu unserer Zeit waren, waren aber zur Verfügung, wenn wir reden wollte. Wir konnten den letzten Abend mit ihnen im Freien zu verbringen, einen unvergesslichen Sonnenuntergang zu beobachten, wie wir nach Westen in Richtung der Chesapeake Bay konfrontiert. Sie haben sogar japanische Laternen herausgebracht und erlaubt uns, unsere und Sohn zu jedem Licht und starten Sie eine - wirklich ein magisches Erlebnis. Die Nachbarschaft ist ein nicht-touristischen Strand Nachbarschaft, versteckt aber kein Problem mit Richtungen. Wir haben schon Freunde, die für die Info an dieser Stelle gefragt haben, so dass sie gehen können; nicht trödeln!

Dies war der beste Airbnb erlebt mich und meine Freundin je hatte !! Christi war unglaublich freundlich, informativ und leicht zugänglich in den Wochen vor unserer Ankunft. Sie beantwortete alle meine Fragen und E-Mails mit Dringlichkeit und bot eine Vielzahl von Informationen während unseres Aufenthaltes und empfahl viele Dinge in der Gegend zu tun und den umliegenden Landkreisen. Als wir das erste Christi während unserer Check-in Prozess trafen wussten wir sofort, dass sie ein toller Gastgeber sein würde, und beharrte darauf, dass, wenn wir jemals etwas brauchten, dass sie mehr als glücklich sein würde, uns in jeder aufzunehmen und sie tat! Das Zimmer war perfekt für uns beide, und es gab sogar eine kleine Küche / Esszimmer und ein Sofa. Unser Zimmer war an dem Haus, aber es fühlte sich wie wir unsere eigene Privatsphäre hatte. Es gab kleine Snacks / Getränke für bei unserer Ankunft als auch. Der beste Teil dieses airbnb Haus war, dass sie direkt neben einem privaten Strand lebt, dass wir jederzeit nutzen können !! Sie hat auch einen Golfwagen Sie verwenden können, um die Nachbarschaft zu fahren, die wirklich Spaß gemacht! Es gibt zwei große Regeln an diesem Ort airbnb es Sicherheit ist und sicherstellen, dass Sie Spaß haben und Spaß, den wir hatten! Wir würden sehr gerne wieder an diesen Ort für einen längeren Aufenthalt zu kommen.

Wonderful place to stay! Wir waren nur für eine Nacht, aber wir würden gerne wieder zu kommen, wenn es warm ist und bleiben länger die Gegend zu genießen !! Christi war so freundlich und warm es ein Vergnügen, bei ihr zu bleiben, war!

Wir waren begeistert, alle Bewertungen zu besuchen, nachdem er und es war genau, wie beschrieben. Das war ein großartiger Ort, auf dem Weg nach OBX zu bleiben. Wir wurden herzlich empfangen von Christi, der uns den Raum zeigte (sauber und schön eingerichtet) und dann, sobald wir waren wir entschieden wir uns auf ihrem Golfwagen hüpfte und sie fuhr uns um die malerische Ufernähe. Es ist ein Haus auf der Ecke, die einen kühlen Ehrensystem Bauernhof stehen hat. Nach der Fahrt zeigte sie uns auf den Strand und die Kajaks und Schwimmwesten wir nutzen konnten. Bevor wir gewagt haben wir überprüft den Koi-Teich-einem unserer 9-jährigen Favoriten aus! Wir kayaked auf der Sandbank und abgekühlt und dann zum Abendessen ging in der nahe gelegenen Clam Shack. Wir hatten schon fahren den ganzen Tag so waren wir sehr müde und hatte das Feuer und s'mores nicht tun - aber es war eine tolle Idee. Wir taten die Wunsch Laternen obwohl und ich bin so froh, dass wir das gemacht haben. Wir haben einen guten Schlaf und dann um 6 Uhr morgens ging hinaus. Christi sorgte dafür, dass alles bequem und Spaß. Sie ist ein toller Gastgeber und macht Sie zu Hause fühlen.

Beeindruckend! Das war eine erstaunliche Erfahrung. Christi war super warm und einladend, setzen ein Feuer für uns, hatte große Unterkünfte auf. Eine landschaftlich reizvolle Lage am Strand mit einem Coy Teich zu booten. Wir haben rund um die sehr schöne Gegend in den Golfwagen zu fahren und hatten so eine tolle Zeit. Christi war sehr kommunikativ vor, während und nach. Ein toller Gastgeber, war sie für die Gastfreundschaft geboren! Dankbar fand sie zu haben !!

Nice location and very quite.

The host, Anne, is very friendly and accommodating and her property is amazing for relaxing. We used the property for a week as a home base to all the activities nearby in Yorktown, Williamsburg, Jamestown, Newport News. Since we were vacationing with two children under 2, this proximity was mandatory. The house had many fun things to do for the kiddos while we were there and is very spacious. The movie room was awesome also. Anne shared her grandchildren's toys and ideas in the yard to have fun, not to mention the friendly dog! We would love to return in the future!

My family and I had to book a place last minute, and Anne's listing had just been posted. Her place was ideal for us, a picturesque setting- peaceful- yet close to the National Historic site of the Yorktown battle and the tourist attractions there! She met us and we had a dialogue throughout our stay. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone.

Filled with southern charm, Anne's apartment was a joy to stay in. The pictures didn't do it justice because it was even more beautiful in person. Everything was clean and comfortable, the beds were so soft, and the little extras were just the cherry on top (my daughter absolutely loved playing with the toys that Anne had on hand, while my husband enjoyed the theater room and talking music with Anne's husband). Anne warmly welcomed us and always had a smile on her face and story to tell. We will most certainly be back again the next time we are in the area.

Anne and Bill's space was absolutely perfect for our family of five. The apartment was fully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable 5 day stay. Having both a comfortable living space, access to a theatre room and separate bedrooms with their own amenities was great. The setting was perfect as well with access to a fishing dock which we took advantage of each morning. The icing on the cake are Anne and Bill who were gracious hosts; helping us out with ideas for our day trips and places to eat, as well as, being kind and generous in every interaction. We will definitely recommend their place to family and friends.

It is a lovely location right on the water. We really enjoyed the tranquility, including a dock fire one night and some family kayaking the next day. Anne was an attentive hostess.

I stayed at Bryan's place for a weekend for a local wedding in Lancaster, VA. Bryan was a great host and greeted me when I arrived and gave my a tour of the house. There were 2 spacious bedrooms and a nice bathroom, living room and kitchen. The house was very clean and cozy. This was a great value and I would definitely recommend this Airbnb to a friend.

My family and I stayed at Bryan's place for one night. We arrived at nighttime, so it helped that Bryan lit a tiki torch to signal the place and the parking area. We did not have the pleasure of meeting Bryan, but he left everything ready for us and kept in touch electronically throughout our stay. The home is cute, cozy, and clean. Our family enjoyed a movie night on the comfy couches, playing on the foosball coffee table, and wonderful sleep on great sized bedrooms. The upstairs and downstairs floors are connected by a small spiral staircase by the bathroom; we had a guest from upstairs come down to use something in the laundry area, but it was quick. I wish we had arrived earlier to have used the outdoor area, there was a gazebo, fire pit, and kayaks/bikes available for use.

Beautiful home in a very pretty location. the inside is *better* than the photos! We appreciated all the options of things to do -- board games, foosball, bikes and other outdoors stuff, etc. Bryan as a host was a real gentleman, very accommodating and helpful.

Excellent stay! The place is not on the water but very near the water. Very clean. It's nicer than the pictures show. Very friendly and helpful host. They have two kayaks and a canoe (with paddles and life vests), which we were able to take out on the water. There is a small (free) beach 10 minutes drive away. Kitchen was well stocked. It's the lower level of a two story building. The upper level is a full time rental (not the host). At one point there was loud screaming from a child and bowling balls rolling around upstairs, but it did not last more than 20 minutes. Very comfortable for 4 people. Would (and probably will) stay again.

Nice quiet place to stay

Bryan's place was secluded and quiet. The bathroom and shower were nicely updated. Bryan met us on time and helped with getting the kayaks to the water.

Judy helped my husband and I feel at home. The guesthouse was in a slightly rural area, which is the area of VA in general. The loft in the house was so fun, however, it would not be so great for small children. My husband and I enjoyed the loft and the fun character it added! I highly recommend anyone who is visiting the Glouscestor/Williamsburg area of VA to stay with Judy!

Great accommodations and great location for what we needed. Not close to a lot, but that is expected in that area. Beautiful place, inside and out. Judy provided everything that you could need and more and was available throughout our stay if we needed anything else.

My husband and I stayed at Judy's for three nights as a getaway from DC. It was perfect for us--an incredibly peaceful and comfortable setting and really pleasant, convenient location. We enjoyed hanging out on the property and going for walks around the area. We made trips to both Haven Beach and Bethel Beach Nature Preserve, which appear to be hidden gems of the area. Both are lovely, uncrowded, clean Chesapeake beaches. We also ate out for lunch everyday in the nearby town, which has a great range of dining options. We cooked dinner and breakfast in the guesthouse's fully equipped and well designed modern kitchen, which was another great way to relax. Judy and Tim were fabulous hosts, leaving many thoughtful touches in the guesthouse and providing lots of local recommendations. We would definitely return at the next opportunity.

Wow! This was our very first Airbnb experience and it was amazing!! Judy's place had lots of room for our family of 5, which included 2 teenage boys who LOVED sleeping in the loft. It was very, very clean and beautifully air conditioned with a full kitchen. While here we sailed on the Alliance Schooner at Yorktown (bought tickets online) and it was such a beautiful day. My husband and boys went to WaterPark USA and had a fun day. One thing we did not realize until we got there was how close Judy's place was to Williamsburg which is a full day living museum experience - our kids would have loved it but we had no idea it was so close by - we will definitely come back again! And Judy's daughter was a wealth of information about what to see and do as we continued our trip towards Washington DC. She was right about everything and we had a blast! This three night stay at Judy's guesthouse was our best experience on our 13 day road trip. Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed staying here - we were in town for a wedding and it was a nice "home" to go back to over the weekend. The apartment is very modern and clean - and if the ladder/sleeping loft is a concern for you, we ended up sleeping on the pull out sofa instead and were perfectly comfortable. Judy was very easy to communicate with, and had a few nice extras waiting for us when we arrived. Would definitely recommend!

This is definitely worth the stay!

Judy was an amazing host and so willing to help with whatever we needed! They had lots of suggestions for food and activities in their guestbook and was also available by call or text. She left a dozen of fresh eggs (chickens are there on the property) in the fridge, as well as English muffins, cinnamon raisin bread and the most delicious strawberry jam!!!! Though the kitchen is small it is well equipped and was nice to cook in! There was every spice you can ever imagine. The house is out in the country some, but it's a beautiful drive! Lots of great lil spots to eat too! Great place to come and unwind.

What a wonderful stay in a beautiful town. Ricky's apartment was just what my family needed for a relaxing getaway from the city. My fiancé and I had the most incredible stay at Ricky's place. The apartment is located right on main street of the sweetest downtown area. Ricky was fantastic and so accommodating. He made us feel so welcomed and even made sure we had local snacks waiting. He gave us many suggestions of activities to do in town that really enhanced our trip. We would HIGHLY recommend staying in historic Gloucester Courthouse in Ricky's apartment.

The unit is very clean (especially for being pet-friendly) and well equipped. Great location for any sightseeing you may want to do. The Gem of Gloucester This apartment is perfectly located in the heart of Downtown Gloucester, with easy access to everything you can think of. Shopping and all eateries are a few minutes away. Easy access to every highway, byway, and back road. This newly renovated spot was beautiful and absolutely perfect for our stay. Every amenity you could think of is right at your finger tips. Ricky's attention to detail was spot on. I'll be back next year and may stay longer so I can truly enjoy Gloucester. Ricky was very considerate and worked with me while a few kinks were being resolved with the reservation. Excellent communication the entire time and he gave me a few suggestions of places to visit outside of the area. I was made to feel welcome and at home from the very start. I truly couldn't have asked for a better experience.

We won't hesitate to recommend this great accommodation in Gloucester Courthouse. Beautiful clean comfortable space, and we loved the fact that the windows open for cool summer night! Main Street is really quiet except for the occasional fire truck. We didn't have an actual meeting with Ricky, but he was totally available for any questions that we bothered to ask. And genial! It's all a really sweet small town experience. With family in the area, we hope to come and stay here again.

Our family had a wonderful time at this rental. It was perfect for relaxing and enjoying time in the water. I would definitely recommend water shoes so that you can take advantage of the shallow waters and explore the pop up "islands"!! The home had all the things we needed to make breakfast, lunch and dinner. We even caught some crabs to make dip! It fit 6 of us with plenty of room to spare. The washer/dryer was perfect to clean clothes during our stay. And there were plenty of towels for both bathing and the beach. Jim gave our kids food to feed the ducks and Virginia gave us squash from her garden that we cooked one evening. We look forward to coming back here next year.

The place is located on a marvelous land next to the ocean, surronded by Wild Life. We have seen bambie, rabbits, Ducks, eagles, crabs, etc.. It is like being in a Disney movie. The hosts are more than welcoming. There are kind and helping. They thought about everything from towels to blankets to all amenties (washer, dryer, dish washer, soaps, etc) No need to pack. Traveling to VA beach is fairly easy. Parking over there is 10$/day. I would recommend this place to anyone! It is located between the Va beach, and many historic site. We had the best family vacation!

We recommend this wonderfull acommodation. Jim and Virginia are so hospitable. And you have such a great view. Nearby you can experience so many places with living history. It was awesome. If we could, we would come back. We will miss Jim and Virginia back in Germany.

Don't hesitate! Or hosts were lovely and helpful. In addition to all the items in the other reviews, I would add that we thoroughly enjoyed the wildlife. There was an eagle's nest within sight of the dock, and we were enthralled watching the adult and juvenile bald eagle flying and hunting. We witnessed a turtle lay her eggs and return to the bay. We sighted a few others and of course many crabs. Don't forget your binoculars. We didn't want to leave.

This was my very first stay using an Airbnb I think that Virginia set the bar very high for my future stays at other locations. This was better than I expected and would recommend this apartment to anyone. To enhance your stay, I recommend purchasing a box of Cheerios. You'll make life-long friends with the three ducks.

This is a fantastic property with direct access to Chesapeake beaches. The owners are very nice family oriented people that went out of their way to ensure we were well taken care of. I would highly recommend this airbnb to any family that would like to get away from it all and have a nice relaxing stay with wonderful beach views. Five stars!

This was our families first time booking with Airbnb and we had an amazing experience. Having 4 children makes it hard going on vacation for long periods and being stuck in a hotel. This property was everything we were looking for and more. It was very spacious , clean , affordable and had amazing views of the ocean. My kids loved walking around the property and finding shells, feeding the 3 ducks and playing with their dog Biscuit. Virginia and her husband Jim were very welcoming and offered to help us with anything. We will definitely be coming back to stay here in the future.

What a lovely experience Bayside Retreat is! The view is breath-taking, the surrounding community is quaint and the accommodations are more than expected. It was truly a much-needed retreat. {I only wish I could have stayed longer} I briefly met Virginia, Jim, their son & dog on their Sunday morning stroll. They were very kind and recommended a nearby beach...which I went to and thoroughly enjoyed. The only note I have for future guests... GPS directed me about half a mile beyond the driveway to a grove of trees. I arrived around 10pm after a long drive, so it took me a minute to realize I had gone that far beyond the location and find the correct spot. All in all, this was the perfect way to end my vacation and I plan to make a return visit soon.

The place was very nice. Comfortable beds, big kitchen and living room. Shower and bathroom was luxurious. Very quite but only a few minutes from Cape Charles.

Brooke was a great hostess and we were completely satisfied with our vacation through her place. Though we never met her because we stayed at a timeshare, all of my communication with Brooke was professional and prompt. She also provided us with an AWESOME free upgrade! Wyndham Patriots Place turned out to be a lovely place to stay. We loved our condo there, especially the fact that it is so conveniently located by all of Williamsburg's attractions. The maintenance staff was especially helpful. We called maintenance upon arriving because a light was burned out. The man arrived promptly, fixed the problem, and then, hearing our conversation about needing extra ice for our party, offered to go bring us extra ice so we wouldn't have to go buy some. He brought us extra ice within minutes and was an exceptionally personable staff member to interact with. Aside from the light problem, the rest of the condo was clean and well cared for. I would recommend staying here.

Our visit was extremely comfortable, convenient and enjoyable. It was by no means expensive, but a little more than we've normally paid in the Williamsburg area. It is worth noting that this isn't your typical airbnb listing. I'm unsure of the actual situation, but we were mistaken for the owners of the apartment, and when we informed them we were just visiting, we were pestered continuously to purchase a timeshare with the accommodation. It wasn't a hard sell, but it was clear they really wanted us to invest, that was the only bad side of the stay. Otherwise, fantastic!

Andy was a very responsive and helpful host. She answered emails quick, gave detailed instruction. This place was great. It had everything you can possibly need while traveling. It was clean and comfortable. Close to williamsburg colonial. If the weather was better, I would have walked over.

Four of us (two couples) stayed in this time-share resort complex in a 2-bedroom, 2-bath unit. The unit was exactly as advertised and we enjoyed our stay very much. This is a quiet neighborhood with many restaurants nearby. Colonial Williamsburg is only 10 minutes away. We recommend this to anyone planning to visit Williamsburg.
