“Feel like in a Harry Potter movie walking through this architectural residential ensemble from the 1920s: it was the first residential skyscraper complex in the world.”

“BUS STOP for M8 - Bus straight to Astor Place and West Side! This just runs across town just like the L. It doesn't come as often as the 14D, but if I'm going cross town and I see it coming I usually hop on. It's very convenient!”

“St. Luke's was named for the physician evangelist when the city was gripped by a yellow fever epidemic in 1820. Walk behind the church building, and you’ll find an absolutely gorgeous, beautifully landscaped wonderland of flowers, trees, and bushes, with small paths and benches for sitting. It feels like a rural English churchyard. The church's first service was actually held at Newgate prison—the official state prison of New York from 1796 to 1828—which used to stand at Hudson and Christopher Street. There are plaques commemorating Newgate at the Christopher Street/Sheridan Square subway station.”
