“Hike or ride your bike on the Twin Tunnels trail, a section of the historic Columbia Gorge Highway closed to vehicles. It goes from Mosier to Hood River. E-bike rentals are in Mosier.”

“The Arch Hike is one of our favorites in the Gorge- just be on the lookout for poison oak near the creek.”

“A favorite local spot for hikers, mountain bikers, dog walkers, wild-flower lovers and more. On a windy day make sure to take the Maui Falls route over what's know as the Jeep track - it provides much greater protection from the breeze. This one of the most amazing spots to see balsam root and lupine growing together in full glory, starting about the end of April (approximately) and running about 3 weeks.”

“This beach has world-class windsurfing, but on a calm day it's our favorite place to head to cool off. There's picnic tables and shade right next to the water.”

“This is my favorite hike in the Columbia River Gorge. It's got a bit of elevation gain at the beginning, but it is completely worth it for the sweeping views of the Gorge.”

“Walk the dog, hang out on the water, SUP - there's a boat dock. Or head over to Rowena State Park, on the same road, a little bit east, to see windsurfers rip on a windy day.”

“The most stunning view of this wall is from our kitchen and living room window. On the wall side of the river in WA, there are killer hiking and mountain biking trails. If you head over there, hit Syncline Winery when you're done.”

“If you’re a bird watcher, this is a nice place to see them congregate. Certain times of year you might see Elk passing by, too!”

“HORSETHIEF LAKE State Park: This family-pet-friendly park is probably the best for swimming and picnicking in the area. It's spacious and scenic with lots of picnic tables and clean facilities. Note: This is a state park, so "the man" requires a Discovery Parking Pass" which can be purchased at the Lyle Merc $30 and is good for ALL state parks in the Gorge. You can pay by the day, I think it's $5, but if you will around for a while it's worth it to buy the pass.”

“Wow! Our own local beach! You can windsurf or kite here, SUP or just hang with locals. In fall, our salmon run down Rock Creek. In summer the creek mostly dries up. Locals only here - the welcoming kind. ”
