The Sunsphere stands 266ft high and 26 stories tall. The 4th floor offers a 360 view of Knoxville. Each pane of glass is made of 24-karat gold. “Also a part of the South Loop trail of the Urban Wilderness (in back yard of this property). According to Blue ridge outdoor magazine: The Urban Wilderness is one of the crown jewels of today’s thriving outdoor scene in Knoxville. Consisting of 1,000 acres, 5 parks, and 42 miles of trails, this interconnected system of mostly single-track trails is a hotbed for running, hiking, and biking. The Main Loop of the Corridor is a 12.5 mile route that connects all of the various parks and their systems. A couple of must-see areas of the loop include the Hastie Natural Area which offers a lot for mountain bikers and trail runners and Mead’s Quarry (beautiful lake to swim in).”
