“This local chain cafe is neat and convenient. Starbucks has nothing on it! If you stay at our Airbnb, you can grab any kind of coffee you want from one of the Friend's Cafe around the island. Lucky there is one in the Mayaguez pueblo in the famous Plaza de Colon, for a nice sip and chill. ”

“The best jelly rolls sort of dessert, in Spanish "Brazo Gitano" in an incredible assortment of flavors including mango, guava, pineapple and much more. They prepare other treats. My favorite, if you are lucky enough to catch some, are called "Yemitas". It is a soft vanilla cake covered with a sweet smelling icing made with egg yolks. They also serve daily lunch and is a good place to buy Puerto Rican crafts and edibles, including sangría made in Puerto Rico. Our town's famous sangría is Fido.”
