Schloss
“Originally built in 1615 by the first Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu, the Nagoya Castle Hommaru Palace was the residence and formal audience hall for his son, the Lord of the Owari Domain. Nagoya’s palace was regarded as a masterpiece, the finest example of Samurai-styled Shoin-zukuri castle architecture, and became the first castle to be designated a National Treasure. It was the most elegant and gorgeous palace of all, richly decorated with gold covered walls and stunning paintings by the famed Kano School, the finest artists of the day.”

“A kind of traditional Japanese market. These are some shops for snacks. You should try some! Many foreigners enjoy the variety of shops that include traditional souvenirs, electronics, cos-play, and more! How about having a snack or lunch at one of the "maid cafes"?”

Discount Store
“【中文】 唐吉訶德的特色是標榜貨品售價較其他店舗廉宜,其營業時間較長,一般直至深夜甚至凌晨5時。部份分店附設大型停車場。店内空間較為狹小、陳列方法亦較混亂。銷售貨品種類包括成衣、食品、首飾、家居用品、工具、體育用品、電子產品等。 【EN】 Don Quijote (ドン・キホーテ?) is a discount chain store that has over 160 locations throughout Japan as well as three stores in Hawaii.[2] It carries a wide range of products, from basic groceries to electronics to clothing. The store is well known in Japan and is often referred to by its shortened name Donki (ドンキ?). Distinctly, Don Quijote tends to keep very late hours for Japanese retailing (to 3 or 5am, or even 24 hours) and it packs its goods from ceiling to floor in a distinct merchandising strategy.”

“名古屋名物の1つ、手羽先なら風来坊です。昔から変わらない手羽先は、 肉質のジューシーさを残し、表面はパリッと2度揚げ。熟成タレを隙間なく塗りつけ、 特選塩コショウで仕上げ、ゴマをふる。何本おかわりしても飽きません。 Tebasaki is deep-fried chicken wingtips. Once tasted, it is never forgotten. The spicy flavor also goes very well with beer or Sake Japanese rice wine. ”

“Best unagi I've had! Prices are on the high side, but it is located in a fancy shopping mall in Nagoya so I guess that's to be expected. Food and service are both excellent. They have english menus available, with english instructions on how best to enjoy their signature unagi set with the various toppings. I also enjoyed the liver and tamago unagi appetizer. The egg was fresh and warm and was still wobbling when it was served. Mm, I'm salivating as I'm thinking of that yummy food right now :) Go early to avoid the long dinner lines. Highly recommended!”
