A lovely family holiday over Christmas at the cottage. Amazing part of the country! Cottage was very well equipped and the fire kept us all very warm and cosy. The host was always very quick to respond and very helpful. Talland Bay is short drive away was a hidden gem..as is Lantic Bay with breathtaking views. Thouroughly recommend this place.

We had a wonderful 2 week stay in the Trengrove Cottage. Ian is a great host from the earliest contact, to the much needed directions and all the treats awaiting our arrrival. If you want a bucolic stay in the country side with easy access to all that Cornwall has to offer you can't go wrong with this selection. The cottage has virtually everything you need for an extended stay. We wouldn't hesitate to return to Trengrove! Thanks Ian!

Had a wonderful time at the cottage. The cottage is beautiful, clean and modern with excellent bedrooms and bathrooms. I particularly loved the little extra touches such as the soaps, towels, the welcome tea and coffee with biscuits on the table waiting for you. I love cooking and it was great being able to use the modern kitchen and everything was there for you to use. A lot of thought, time and money and love has gone into restoring the cottage and it is appreciated by those who stay and look after it.

We have just returned from a great week in this fabulous cottage. We were a party of 2 adults, 3 children and 1 small dog and the cottage could not have been better equipped for our needs. It is very comfortable with plenty of space and all the instructions and information you might need both in relation to the cottage itself and the surrounding area. The cottage is located in a very small hamlet near the village of Pelynt. The location is very peaceful and private. The cottage is very cleverly separated from the adjoining property (Trevenna Cottage) with both properties and their respective gardens enjoying privacy from each other. Ian is a great host - he was very helpful in the booking process and always responded very promptly to my enquiries. His brother was on hand locally and again was extremely helpful during our stay. The surrounding area is beautiful with plenty of places to visit. We loved Talland Bay which is a great little dog friendly beach with a fab café serving great coffee and food. We would definitely recommend this property.

The cottage is delightful, exactly as described. The kitchen is very well equipped, lovely crockery and glassware and very nice furnishings. We arrived late and were pleased to find a welcome tray with tea and cornish shortbread waiting for us. Lots of useful information too about the surrounding countryside. We had a problem with our car as we were leaving, and met Ian's brother Derrick who had come to prepare the cottage for the next guests. He was so helpful and kind and assisted us in every way possible, while we waited for assistance from the RAC. Altogether a wonderful stay!

Initial contact with Ian was very friendly and very very quick. Booking was easy and the information provided was very accurate and really detailed. Now on to the cottage. It's beautiful, just as it looks in the photographs, spotlessly clean, very well equipped with everything you could ask for. We have had a really comfortable, cosy, peaceful stay. Ian is a fantastic host who responds promptly to emails and requests and has a fantastic holiday home which we have been lucky enough to stay in for a great holiday in Cornwall. Highly recommend this cottage, we will definitely be back.

We had a great stay in Trevenna Cottage, everything was so well considered! It was the perfect place to come back to relax after days out and about. Ian was very prompt with replying and made sure we had all the information we needed! Would definitely recommend!

Myself and Naomi had a great time staying at Ian's cottage. When we arrived it was perfectly clean and tidy and there were even some complimentary biscuits and cornish tea left for us. The cottage is located in an idyllic location; it is incredibly peaceful and surrounded by beautiful farmland and countryside. If you are travelling without a car, be prepared for some long walks into town however! I would highly recommend this cottage!

Everything that Ian described his cottage to be was spot on. Its located in a lovely quiet area, and is the perfect location for a quiet break, just what we were looking for. The high quality amenities also meant that for the quiet evenings in we had everything we needed, a home away from home. Other people interested in booking the cottage needn't worry about the facilities or what things they need to take as everything is there waiting for you. It was so easy liaising with Ian and organising our stay, the booking and payment etc. We also organised for a supply of wood and coal for the stove which was there on our arrival, along with welcome biscuits for our first tea and coffee, not that there were many left as Sara was happy to tuck into them whilst I was unpacking the car! The area is great for exploring the surroundings and trips to Polperro and Looe were really enjoyable, especially with the great sunny weather which we experienced. The photos look great but they don't do the property justice and we will certainly be returning in the near future for another stay. We're usually quite a fussy couple over where we like to stay and places we return to so the fact that we are writing a review and speaking so highly speaks volumes.

Trevenna Cottage was a great choice for our relaxing romantic break in Cornwall. Ian was beyond helpful before we arrived, making sure we had all the information and advice we could possibly need. The instructions were perfect and allowed us to find the house easily. It is 1 mile down a single track, so feels like the perfect hideaway. The shops in the village stock everything you could possibly want (and the bacon from the butchers in the Premier store was amazing!). The cottage was well equipped, with a lovely little log burner, and beautifully refitted bathroom, and the little extras (such as the cleaning pack, information booklet, towels and and robes) were a thoughtful touch and made our stay even more comfortable. I'd highly recommend this cottage for a quiet, relaxing break.

A gentle and warm welcome from Alex awaited us. We were shown the wonderful facilities of the tidal mill and the room was superb. A wealth of craftsmanship abounds in this lovely space. Alex has thought of everything as it even has a fridge with fresh milk for beverages and beautiful "Duchy" biscuits with a cafetiere, ground and instant coffee and decent tea bags. Breakfast is available in the fantastic open plan kitchen and again there was everything that one would need for a decent breakfast. Overall the stay was relaxing and incredibly good value and and we would certainly stay again. Thank you.

A fantastic stay with Alex and Darren in their incredible home! We were made to feel welcome from the second we arrived. After being shown around the stunning house we settled into the bedroom where everything was perfectly taken care of. The breakfast on offer was a great selection of cereals, toast and we were very lucky to be offered probably the best omelette I have ever had. The mill gives wonderful views across the quay and it is great just to sit and watch the boats coming in and out whilst in the kitchen. If you are after a peaceful stay in a idyllic setting then look no further...

I had a lovely stay at Lipson. The hosts were friendly and chatty but also respected that I was tired in the evenings, which I appreciated a lot! Lovely bright, spacious room in the top floor apartment. The whole apartment was very clean and well kept and the kitchen was well equipped. It was the ideal location for me as I was spending a few days at the university. It's also very close to town and has a nice park with views of the Hoe just across from it. Elia was a great host and looked after me well and the other tenant also made me feel welcome. Plenty of peace and quiet in the evenings too - ideal for anyone needing to visit on work.

I really enjoyed my stay at Lipson, the accommodation is spacious and comfortable. Eila has thought of everything to make this a perfect stay - the kitchen is well equipped. Unfortunately, Eila was away during my visit but was in contact to make sure that everything was going well.

We enjoyed our stay over Easter Weekend break. Karen waited for us to give a key to the Farmhouse and a brief introduction to the area after we arrived a bit later than we expected. The area is beautiful, near a nice cosy pub and restuarant. Supermarket is not too far away. 30 mins drive to the Eden project, Boscastle town (highly recommended), and Tintagle Castle. The Farmhouse is spacious and beautiful. You don't need anything for the kitchen if you love cooking. The only thing we forgot to take with us was pairs of slippers. Would love to come back to again and recommend for family for a get away break.

The house was lovely and had everything we needed, including Karen leaving milk and teabags for our arrival. The house is in a beautiful location, which is quiet yet near enough to the local pub(by car) and lots of sightseeing. It is also very near to the A30, which is the main road to south Cornwall. The location is also handy for exploring Devon too. Overall, we had one of the best holidays ever and a wonderful welcome place to stay. We would highly recommend.

The Lodge was in a really lovely area which was very green and peaceful. Although just in the border of Cornwall everything was a reasonably short drive away and the country roads were an adventure themselves with stunning countryside and small villages to explore. We got to see a lot and visit lots of places, even as far as St Ives and Penzance with the drive back being a reasonably short distance. We all had a lovely stay and the house was amazing, such a large living area and great kitchen with all you need. The lodge had sky tv and a very good speaker system so we were entertained when relaxing in the evenings. Overall we loved our stay and I can't think of one negative thing at all. Beds were really comfy and we had plenty of pillows and nice duvets. Each room had an en suite which was fantastic. Plenty of room for all 6 of us plus a two year old child too. I would stay at this property again definitely.

We had a fantastic time at number 17. It was clean and had plenty of space for 2 adults and 3 children. The location was so peaceful and quiet. It was amazing looking out from the balcony at the forest and seeing the robins, squirrels and rabbits. The garden centre and farm shop was a great place to stock up on fresh food and good value too. We used the leisure facilities at the St Mellion resort hotel. The swimming pool was very good for the children. Tennis courts used also. I have no hesitations in recommending this as a great place to spend a week or a short break. The accommodation had everything we needed, and more besides: fully equipped kitchen, complete with dishwasher, toaster and fridge-freezer that bleeped when we left the door open; broadband internet; Sky TV; en-suite bathroom in one bedroom and en-suite shower rooms in the other two. The beds are comfortable - my mum slept better here than she does at home; and the heating came on when it was a little cooler. The accommodation is very spacious and attractive inside and out... we loved the balcony. Location wise, it's very quiet... one of four lodges at the end of a single-track road (one word of advice: a car is essential here). The only noise was birdsong. Speaking of nature, we saw rabbits from our balcony, jays and, more than once - when we went for an evening stroll along the lane that leads to the accommodation - an eagle (or very large bird of prey at any rate). St Mellion Golf Club is very close by if you're a golfer, but we chose to travel a little further afield for day-trips. Polperro was beautiful, if a little busy. Tintagel Castle on the north Cornish coast was absolutely spectacular. I'd certainly return.

Myself and my two children had a wonderfully peaceful stay here. As accommodation goes it was more expensive than I usually pay but we really enjoyed the benefits resulting. The house was clean and spacious (no small amount of property envy experienced) and the kids loved having their own rooms with en-suite bathrooms. Upstairs was a lovely space and the kitchen was very well equipped. We thought we’d be eating out in the evenings but in the end it was really easy, and a pleasure, to cook in. Shame the weather wasn't so good as I can imagine that using the balcony would be great in the summer.

I just finished an excellent three night here with my family. The holiday cottage was set on a reasonably secluded private road. It was clean, welcoming, well finished, and perfectly suited for a holiday in the area. In particular, we were surprised at how well stocked the kitchen was - it was much better than your typical self-catering rental. The location was convenient for visiting sites we wanted to see, but I would offer a slight caution that nothing is actually nearby so you should plan on driving an hour to get wherever you'd like to go (Eden Project, St. Ives, Dartmoor, etc).

Caroline was a fantastic host and always replied promptly to all of our emails. Excellent location, well appointed accommodation, modern, clean, and in great condition. The kitchen was really well equipped, and the finishing touches were the little things like tea, coffee, salt & pepper, and hair dryer all being there. We had a few problems with the WiFi but apart from that it was faultless.

Our stay at Oakridge Lodge St Mellion was fabulous, the property was even better than the pictures, the living area was very spacious and the kitchen was well-equipped. The place was very clean and well kept and was surrounded by beautiful woodland. It's a little bit of a trip to the local amenities but would thoroughly recommend this as a place to get away to unwind and cosy up. Thanks very much.

We stayed here for 3 nights for our son's birthday as a base for the Aquarium and Bonfire Night in Plymouth. The house was so clean, comfortable and warm despite it being only 1 degree outside! It was very well equipped and we slept really well. We have already been telling our friends and families about it and would definitely love to return again! One minor thing, the cot mattress is too thin, it could do with an extra mattress for comfort. Also, we can highly recommend the excellent roast at Who'd a Thought It pub which is in the next village along.

We have enjoyed our 3 nights stay. We were a family with children in a tourism trip to UK, and had a very pleasant time in this house. Communication with host was good, and clear check in procedure was sent by email ahead of our arrival by few days. It is very convenient to collect the keys from near by hotel. The house was as advertised, was very clean, rooms very comfortable, kitchen very well equipped, the place is very quite and peaceful. I liked the outside grill set up, as we did have a nice BBQ dinner. Overall, it has been great experience for my family, we highly recommend this place, and we will try to come back again in the future.

Caroline was fabulous in communication prior to our stay and the information sent to help us find things was perfect. The setting was beautiful and peaceful, yet not far from amenities. The lodge was spacious both inside and out, and generally just lovely, to the point we all said we could have lived there!

A beautiful and tranquil Grade II listed coach house, recently renovated to a high standard. The house has its own gardens, self contained private courtyard, open plan flagstone living area with log burner, modern fitted kitchen with dishwasher. Upstairs, there is one double and a twin with a separate bathroom. The Old Coach House is within the grounds of The Old Vicarage, tucked behind the historic church in Princetown, a perfect spot to explore Dartmoor and the nearby town of Tavistock. Guests have a private courtyard & garden however they also have access to the gardens of the main house. We live on site and are happy to assist and help our guests in any way we can and encourage guests to knock should they require anything to make their stay more comfortable. We have 3 girls who are always happy to have extra children to play with in the gardens. In the summer months there is a trampoline and swings which are guests are welcome to use. The garden of the main house backs onto Dartmoor National Park. The village of Princetown is the home of the Dartmoor National Park Visitor Centre, along with two friendly local pubs serving the infamous Jail Ale and good quality home cooked food. There is also the locally renowned Fox Tor Cafe which serves a great breakfast to set you up for a day of activities on the moor! All are within easy walking distance. The nearby stannary & market town of Tavistock is a ten minute car journey away and has numerous cafes, restaurants and local interesting shops to explore. The pannier market is open almost everyday and regular farmers markets held in the town square sell various locally grown vegetables, rare breed meats and locally made items. Dogs are welcome and we provide essentials such as a dog bowl, dog towels & shampoo.Mehr lesen

The coach house is a lovely house, comfortable and cosy. The accommodation is well equipped. Zoe is a great host, arrived to some fresh flowers on the table and some local made fudge. Would highly recommend the coach house to anyone looking for a place to stay in Dartmoor.

Zoe was very helpful. Clear directions to property attached to the old vicarage in large grounds. Very private with ample easy parking.. Next door to the church in centre of a small Dartmoor town. Very dog friendly! The Coach house is a lovely mix of ancient structure and modern fittings. Very welcoming wood burner. All beautifully clean and welcoming. Paths from the church lead directly onto the moors. Very happy with our choice.

The Old Coach House was ideal for us as it provided us with the flexibility of self-catering combined with the convenience of supplied linen & towels. Perfect for a short-break without the 'formality' of a bed and breakfast environment. Although we were visiting Princetown specifically for a local event, the location would be an ideal base for those wishing to explore Dartmoor at a leisurely pace. We would certainly like to return next year and if time permits, extend our stay for a few more days. Thanks.

The Old Coach House is a beautiful property with a great location, perfectly situated to explore Dartmoor. Zoe and her husband made us feel very welcome. The house was great and even had a fireplace which made the evenings super cosy. It was great that there was a big kitchen as we could cook in the evening ourselves. We had a fantastic time and would certainly come back if we come to Dartmoor again. Thank you.

Consigliamo vivamente!

Breakfast is not included. Widecombe is a historic village, with its parish church rightly known as the cathedral of the moor. it is also home to the famous widecombe fair. The area is surrounded by beautiful Tors and streams. Hidden valleys contain the remains of many past settlements, from medieval villages destroyed by the black death, to stone age and bronze age hut circles. the world famous Merrivale stone row is only half hours drive away. Horse riding and canoeing are also popular local activities. surrounding villages and towns offer regular farmers markets, with a taste of local (website hidden) most of these villages you will find a warm welcome in their tearooms and inns. the larger villages also home their own traditional country fair, emphasising country music and folk dancing. Many of Dartmoors long distance walks pass this way, including the very popular two moor way which links the south Dartmoor coast with the Exmoor coast. Best to bring your own car to really indulge your self here on the moors. Breakfast is not served but we have muesli, eggs, bread and milk for your first day of your arrival so you can relax and enjoy your morning. You also have access to free teas and coffee. The cottage has open access to Dartmoor, for which we can offer you assistance via maps and guidebooks. We can also by prearrangement offer you guided walks, tailor made to suit your requirements. Breakfast is not included. once out of our gate you are on open moor. we are on the side of Wind Tor and the route of the Two Moors way. plenty of cattle, sheep and ponies all around us. It takes a little longer, but it is possible to walk to the village across the moor instead of country lanes. We have plenty of maps and guide books to help you! Also in bad weather we can loan you raincoat and wellington boots. Hopefully not needed. Best to bring your own car. You should be aware the nearest food stores and petrol stations are in Ashburton and Bovey Tracey. Your own means of transport is essential. Unfortunately, we have no reliable public transport service to Widecombe. Apart from waterproof clothing it is important to have strong walking footwear. We should tell you that we are on the open moor, continually visited by cattle. ponies, sheep and cows graze just inches away from the house, so get your cameras on stand by. If you are lucky, you might even get to see new born lambs and even baby ponies.Mehr lesen

We received a wonderful welcome at this lovely cottage, with little Easter gifts for my three delighted girls! Right in the heart of the moor, with loads of information on places to explore, and every creature comfort to make our stay very easy and happy. Miho and Peter even provided some games for the children when the weather started to look a bit dodgy, and couldn't have been more accommodating when we got 'stuck' by an unforeseen problem nearby. My only tip would be to book ahead when going out to eat - the food in local pubs was lovely, and plentiful, but the pubs are small so you need to think ahead and book! Thank you for making our stay so happy!

Miho and Pete made us feel so welcome. We were invited to pick greens for dinner from the vege garden, and the toddler in our party had the run of the garden. The cottage was just as we had hoped, and in a beautiful, quiet spot in the moor.

The cottage is beautifully located in Dartmoor and the view from our bedroom window was fantastic. The description of the cottage is accurate. Ample supplies of fruit, müsli, milk, coffee, tea, butter, bread, jams were put in the kitchen for us on our arrival and Miho had made us a welcome cake with icecream. Miho and Pete were very eager to assist anytime. They came over with vegetables from the garden, asked if we needed advice on the surroundings, wanted our laundry done etc. Pete got out a longbow for our children and showed them how to use it; they were delighted and had a lot of fun with it. A perfect starting point for exploring Dartmoor and the Devon coast as well.

My family's stay with Miho and Pete was among the best experiences I've ever had on Airbnb after over 10 trips. Check-in was where the magic began. After a long and tiring drive from London, we were greeted with smiles on the driveway as we pulled up to the cottage. After getting a tour of the home and lovely garden, we sat down and got to know the two hosts over some fresh scones that Miho had prepared. The home itself exceeded our expectations. The rooms were tidy, colorful, clean, and the kitchen fully stocked and full of goodies for us to enjoy (such as local milk and eggs). The location was serene. Just a couple hours away from Cornwall, Widecombe in the Moor is a quaint little village surrounded by what seems like unending greenery. It was really Miho and Pete that made our experience special. We spent the mornings chatting on the front lawn about our stories, the history of the land, and various other topics while overlooking the beautiful Dartmoor sunrise. Both hosts were full of recommendations, and even offered to accompany us around some nearby towns. On our last morning Pete was also kind enough to take us on a short hike around the home. I couldn't recommend Miho and Pete any higher. They are what the Airbnb community is all about: true connections with warm people around the world. We look forward to keeping in touch with them, and wish our stay had been longer. If you have the chance to stay with them, don't hesitate!

We had am amazing time in berrywood, widecombe. The owners of the cottage couldnt have been more friendly and welcoming . We have 2 small children and they put up a stair gate especially for us, found some toys and spoilt the kids with treats. The cottage was warm and comfortable and I found the kitchen to have everything you needed and it was good quality. Would highly recommend and will go back... Thank you Berrywood!

We had a lovely weekend at Berrywood. Miho and Peter did everything to make us feel welcome and comfortable, and even cooked us a delicious Japanese dinner on the Saturday evening. Excellent in all respects. The owners went out of their way to welcome us and to help us out in every aspect of our stay. The view from the house & garden is stunning and the local area a great place to explore. It's also easy to walk from the house onto one of the main hikes in the area. The kitchen was well stocked, the facilities perfect and in every way it felt like a home away from home - thank you!

Miho and Peter were wonderful hosts! Fruit and cream pastry awaiting our arrival, offering to do our laundry, providing maps and advice on local pubs and walks - everything was perfect. Beautiful view across the moor from the bedroom. Cooked us a delightful breakfast and we wanted to try the Japanese dinner but we didnt have the opportunity. Look out for the Berrywood sign just off the main road when going there - the cottage itself is up the hill from the sign.

Fast response to our original enquiry - and good communications at all times . Lovely quiet location, good room lay out and furnishings. Can not comment on the St Mellion golf and leisure as in just a 3 night stay we did not use these facilities at all - but I must say the pool did look good. Do remember to take your bathers and towels tho. Would be very happy to visit again

Our 2nd visit to Lynda & Vince's beautiful holiday lodge. Just as lovely as we remembered, with the added bonus of a great new kitchen. The lodge was very clean and had all we needed for the week. So peaceful, quiet and restful. A wonderful location to wake up, sit on the sunny balcony eating breakfast and listen to the birds singing. The children really enjoyed the pool at China Fleet where we spent most evenings as they open til 10pm, a real bonus! Looking forward to our next visit.

Included with the accommodation is access to a very good health club, which is great for rainy days, and there a lot of good beaches and attractions within a 30 minute drive. We have felt very comfortable in the house and we liked the location very good. Unfortunately, it has always smelled slightly of oil. This was probably due to the heating in the kitchen. Lovely, Peaceful, rural location. Threshers Barn is located in the tiny hamlet of East Leigh, nr Harberton, about 3 miles from Totnes & Dartington, Dartmoor is about 10 miles one way, the coast 10 miles the other. Harberton and its ancient pub are about 1.5 miles down the road. The local scenery is spectacular, great for walking and cycling although it is very hilly. This is a double room with ensuite shower and loo and lovely views over the hills. There's room for a put-up bed, although it's a bit of a squeeze, however there's a single room next door which I'm happy to include in the booking for the price of an additional guest if it's available. Small family groups have found this arrangement works well. I provide bed and continental breakfast, which includes juice, fruit, home-made bread and a range of cereals. There's free broadband, but even better hardly any light pollution so it's great for stargazing! The farmhouse kitchen/dining room is a communal area. Breakfast is provided here. For guests staying more than a couple of nights basic food preparation facilities are available by previous arrangement. I'm here most of the time and happy to chat and advise how to get the best out of the locality if that is what visitors are interested in. If you're interested in a pilates session during your stay it's a good idea to arrange this before your visit. Stunning views over the South Hams Countryside. Ideal to access the coast and Dartmoor. Totnes, just 10 minutes away is a charming little town. We are in a beautiful, peaceful, rural location, accessible along deep and narrow Devon lanes, that not everyone may be comfortable driving down. We're also not very close to public transport. It is about 5 minutes drive (30 minutes walk) to the nearest village Harberton, which has a lovely pub and 10-15 minutes drive to the nearest town and public transport links in Totnes - about 4 miles away.Mehr lesen

We loved the location. Close to Totnes, Dartington and Dartmouth but also deep in the countryside ( but you do have to navigate the notorious Devon lanes to get to it!) We liked the peace and quiet, the views and the walk up the lane. Sasha made us very welcome and had left out stuff so we could make drinks when ever we wanted which was very welcome. The room was small but clean and comfortable with en suite which we weren't expecting so added bonus. Sasha had left out breakfast every day so we could have it whenever we wanted and a highlight was hearing her play the piano in the back ground while we ate it. If you were coming to an event at Dartington hall this would be a good place to choose as not far away. Also recommend lunch at Riverford Organic Farm Field Cafe. You have to book.

Sasha is a lovely host, warm and informal, making us feel at home; and her converted barn is in a gorgeous spot in Devon - deep in the country lanes, surround by impossibly green fields, but Sasha's directions for getting there are impeccable (and almost poetic, we realised as we were rereading them!). It is cosy and comfortable and good value for money. There was a sharp and sudden cold spell but Sasha had the heating on full blast so we did not suffer. Just wish we had booked in for longer. And next time we'll book in for Pilates classes!

Welcome to my home which is over 100 years old. The area is very residential and you are within walking distance of Plymouth University and the city. 150 meters from a shopping area where there are pubs, restaurants, takeaways and major supermarkets. I have a large double bedroom to rent out, in an old Victorian house 15/20 minutes walk from Plymouth City centre and the Historic Barbican. The house includes a living room, dining room, modern kitchen, four double bedrooms a bathroom downstairs with a shower and toilet, and a shower room upstairs with a seperate toilet. The house is spacious but only has parking for 1 guest car, but there is car space available within a 1 minute walk from the house. Public transport is only a 5 minute walk away, and the railway station is about a 10 minute walk away. Plymouth University is only about a 5 minutes from the house, and the Hoe and the waterfront are about 25 minutes walk from the house. The £40 quoted is for a large bedroom with a double bed, TV and your own sink unit. You can also use the living room to watch TV with me, that is if you want to.(see pictures). There is no cooked breakfast, but tea, coffee, toast and cereals are available if required. It is not intended that the guests use the kitchen to cook meals on a nightly basis. There is lots to see in Plymouth, including the famous Hoe, and the old Barbican. The city has approx. 260,000 people and is within easy reach of Dartmoor National Park, and the Eden Project in Cornwall. There is also a large choice of good restaurants and bars. If you require more than one room I do have another double bedroom which can be booked. Look for "Plymouth City and Historic Barbican 2", and if you can't find it just email me as I may have removed it for a short period of time. I hope you will like your stay here in Plymouth. Ian. Guests have access to both bathrooms, the living room, the kitchen for breakfast, the toilets and of course their bedroom. They can also use the back yard area, especially if it is a nice day to sit outside. As I live in the house I am available at any time to give any help that you need, especially on information about places to visit in Devon & Cornwall. The neighbourhood is very residential. You are about a 5/10 min walk from the main railway station and it is about (150 meters) to Mutlay Plain where you can catch a bus to the city centre or to some other parts of the city.Mehr lesen

If you feel like chatting, he´s very communicative and can give you a lot of good advices. If we´ll visit Plymouth again, we will stay at his house again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Ian. He made us feel very welcome and his house was lovely. It had spacious and beautifully appointed rooms and was very conveniently located a short walk from the main street of Mutley in Plymouth which made it easy to shop, go to restaurants and pubs and catch public transport. Ian is a witty, very obliging and friendly host who even invited us to have a meal with him, and he is a great cook. We highly recommend this Airbnb listing, and hope to get back there again some day to explore the many attractions in the area more thoroughly.

We have just came back from 4 nights stay at Myriam's lovely home. We had an amazing time. The house was spotless, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. It was the perfect house for us as we are a family with 3 children (5yrs, 3yrs and a newborn). Loads of books and toys for the kids which they absolutely loved! The house is in a great location and Myriam tourist recommendations were fantastic! She was very helpful and kind to us. Thanks Myriam we will def we back!

My family and I had a fantastic time staying in Myriam's beautiful house. It was immaculately presented, my young kids loved playing with all the great toys which they'd kindly left out for us to use, Myriam is such an attentive and thoughtful host and answered all of my questions within minutes. It was a great experience and I'd highly recommend staying here.

Myriam was a great host and we had a fantastic visit to Plymouth. We have 3 young kids and this was an ideal place for us to stay for the night. We walked along the coast, stopped for great seafood, and the kids had a great time exploring all the toys that were available. The communication was prompt and professional. We had a fantastic stay in this amazing 2-story house! It is modern, luxurious, and very comfortable; it has everything you need for a short or long stay. All the bedrooms have their own good sized bathrooms with showers. The beds are comfortable and clean. There is a bbq stand outside and nice deck areas. The upstairs kitchen and living space have tall ceilings, and is well decorated with comfortable sofas and a good sized dining table. The kitchen has everything you need, and modern appliances. There is a flat screen TV, fast wifi, and a stereo system with audio and iPod hookup. Highly recommended!

We are a family of 4 with two teenage children. We stayed in no.1 and have to say the whole experience was perfect. Very clean, very well located and the lodge lacked nothing! My only criticism would be if I'd known it was that good I'd have stayed 2 weeks rather than one. The pictures dont do it justice.

This is a cosy bed with a memory foam mattress, with a private shower room. Also the living space can contain a spare bed and a sofa bed. There is a partition door, which allows for partial privacy. It is possible to accommodate 4 in the space (this is a compact layout but great for value family stays). A travel cot can also be added. Hot and cold drinks included. You are welcome to join us in the communal space. Cooking facilities can be arranged on request. This is a great space for couples or families. The double bed is tucked around the corner and has a sort of door from the main area. The shower room is also private and then the living space can be a single bed and a sofa or two singles or another double bed (its a comfy sofa bed!) You can also access the lounge area and help yourself to hot/cold drinks as well as use our downstairs loo! We live in the main property and you can interact as much or as little as you like. Royal William Yard is a fabulous place to visit with lots of great bars and restaurants. We recommend taking the water taxi around to the Barbican and finishing up at the Fisherman's Arms. We are close to buses 32 (Millbrook - Plymouth) and 34 (Derriford- Royal William Yard - Plymouth). We are 25mins walk from the railway station or 5mins on the 32 bus. We walk to a lot of places and it is easy to walk into the centre. We have lots of people to stay and it is unlikely that you will be the only guests. Our guests often socialise together. If you stay for a longer time, the beds are changed weekly. This is not a hotel but we do our best to make our home accommodating. We are a busy family but we still get the house cleaned twice a week! We have some great trips to share with you and even discounts with a local pub!Mehr lesen

You arrive up a cobbled street to a really nicely converted mews at the end. It is a dead end, so no traffic. No issues with parking. You arrive into typical family life, with small children, cats and dogs, and even a couple of French students practicing their English. We stayed in the family room with one child. It has its own en suite shower room and DVD player...son was happy! All clean and tidy, but definitely an amazing conversion to make the most of the space (I won't spoil the surprise). The house was quiet at night, and the small children werre amazingly quiet in the morning. Breakfast is help-yourself cereal and toast....basically if you are happy just slotting into life, this will suit you....if you want waiting on and a cooked breakfast, you'll be disappointed. It suited us, and we would love to stay again.

Latitude 52 is a landmark building situated about 1 mile from the City Centre, and right opposite Devonport Dockyard. There is plenty of free on street parking, and it is adjacent to numerous bus routes, Devonport Stn, the A38 and the Torpoint ferry. Latitude 52 was previously a sailors rest, where seamen would pay a few shillings to have the luxury of a bedroom and a hot shower instead of sleeping on board. Now it is home to 100 contemporary apartments based around a communal central atrium. A 2nd floor West facing contemporary apartment with views over the dockyard and the river Tamar beyond. There's a comfy double bed with memory foam mattress, a well appointed open plan kitchen / living room The entire place is yours to enjoy I live in the same building so am normally around to lend you a cup of sugar, or provide you with any extra information required about the area. Failing that, my phone is never off! Latitude 52, is based in Devonport, Plymouth Right on several bus routes into pretty much everywhere. Opposite the torpoint ferry to Cornwall. Free parking adjacent to the building. Latitude 52 is a residential building, so please can we request that you don't make too much noise to keep the neighbours happy :-)Mehr lesen

He responds like lightening .... :-) The flat was very cosy, relaxing , quiet and safe. It's a 10 min walk to Stoke Village and 5 mins to Devonport Park which is very lovely . Co-op across the road almost which was very handy . A very relaxing stay in a stressful time of moving . Would definitely recommend .

Excellent! Easy check in and check out procedure. Comfortable, quiet, safe and accessible building and apartment. All amenities work well and the shower is excellent (great water pressure and no extreme temperature changes, as suffered in other UK hotels/B&Bs). Bed was comfortable and I did not suffer any disturbances in the night (i.e. no late night parties etc). Washing machine worked well - although I could not find the instructions to use it, I was still able to figure it out (I am a bloke after all) :-) Steve offers a great relaxing place to put your feet up. If you want to explore the old part of Plymouth (Devonport and surrounds), it's certainly an ideal location. There are plenty of buses to/from the city (bus stops are located less than 1 minute walk from the door) and taxis come to the door. If you feel like walking to the city, it's a direct quick-pace 40 minute walk, or a leisurely 1 hour pace......or you can take the scenic route..... Parking is available in nearby streets and no one dared break into my ugly yellow Fiat 500 hire car - so I guess it's a safe place to park. Shops and cafes/fast food area cross the street and the apartment offers oven and microwave cooking facilities. Overall, excellent stay and I hope to be able to stop here again in the future. Thanks Steve!

Great location overlooking the water and quiet despite being there on a Saturday night. The accommodation is clean and well laid out and has good facilities (large screen TV, great shower, separate bathroom, fully equipped kitchen e.t.c.) so if whether you stay in or go out you will be fine. Loads of restaurants nearby and we didn't try them but they looked good from the outside! One thing to note is that Saturday night parking was a bit tricky and we literally got one of the last spaces at about 7.15pm. Outside of that time parking was a breeze and loads of spaces. Mike was very quick to respond and dealt with any queries speedily and in a very friendly manner. I can definitely recommend them and the accommodation and would stay again without a doubt.

We were welcomed with tea and biscuits and a very friendly chat… Dot and Dave are wonderful hosts and always made sure that we were comfortable and had everything we need. Helpful directions and recommendations of places to eat and visit and event going on locally. Everything is clean and tidy, nice to have the attic bedroom and bathroom to ourselves, a good mixture of company in the big kitchen downstairs and privacy when we were winding down at the end of the day. The bed is very comfortable! We slept well and the room had everything we needed and a few we hadn't even thought we might… really good planning on behalf of Dot and Dave. Easy 15 minute walk to the university (where I was based for our stay) and equally easy to get to the Barbican area and on to the Ho for walks, restaurants and generally getting to know the area. Breakfast was a good choice of healthy options and very relaxed. We felt very much at home, very relaxed and greatly enjoyed our stay. This is our first Airbnb experience and we would definitely do it again. Only sorry we couldn't stay longer!

We had a fantastic stay at Dots and Daves home. They are both very nice and good fun! Everything was as expected, the room was ok (tall people should take care). There was a small ensuite-we had to get used to the swinging doors, it´s like going into a saloon :-) The breakfast was fantastic, especially the amount of fruit they offered. On arrival we got a personalised sheet with all information we needed. Their place is not too far away from town, it´s in walking distance, but there are also buses going. Thanks for everything - would absolutely recommend!

I arrived in Plymouth on business at very short notice. I really had no idea what to expect from my visit, but Dot and Dave were amazing hosts - they made me feel incredibly welcome and were always happy to help me get my bearings in the city. Their home is beautiful and the upstairs room is exactly as advertised - 'warm and cosy' The location of the room also means that you feel like you are not intruding in someone's home, but just downstairs you have a lovely couple (Dot and Dave) who really make you feel at home. I would definitely stay again. It is a great base in Plymouth and reasonably priced.

The last house in the hamlet with only fields beyond and very quiet. Tastefully furnished with private outdoor seating area, BBQ & access to newly renovated outdoor swimming pool (photo coming soon) We are also walking distance from the Steiner School, Shumacher College, Dartington Hall, village shop & The Cott Inn. Totnes is less than 2 miles away along a river path. Fantastic walks (or runs) from the door. This apartment is part of the last house in the village with only fields beyond and is very quiet. The loudest sound is usually the whistle from the local steam railway over a mile away. However BT Infinity fast broadband has just arrived & there's pretty good mobile reception (for Devon) so you won't be completely cut off! The apartment is completely self-contained with its own entrance and has a good-sized bright bedroom/studio with a table and chairs, a small kitchen area (with sink, fridge, kettle, toaster, tea and coffee making and a gas cooker with hob and oven), a bathroom (with bath and thermostatically controlled shower) and an entrance hall area with space to hang coats. The room is tastefully furnished with a stone Minster working fireplace, an Art deco desk, Ercol quaker chairs and original oil paintings and etchings. There is also a large 30in LCD TV with DVD player (photo not updated yet) and a Sony clock/radio/ipod player. During the winter firewood is supplied for the open fire. There is also a very sunny, private outside seating area with a table, two chairs and a small BBQ overlooking the front garden. There's plenty of wild life! We regularly see deer and rare Green Woodpeckers as well as all the more common birds. You can park your car right outside the apartment. The 5ft ziplink double bed splits into two singles if required ( photo not yet updated) We can provide a camp-bed for a 3rd person (or child) for a small additional cost. However due to the limited space we don't recommend this for stays of longer than 3 nights maximum. The kitchen is small so if you want to cook 3 course dinners every night it's probably not for you. Full access to the whole apartment. I'm available on phone and email prior to your arrival. And as I live next door I'm there to help if you have any questions or need anything. Where else can you reach the sea in around half an hour or be up on the wilds of Dartmoor in even less time. But there are also fantastic walks from the door. One of the best wild swimming spots in the UK (in the Guardian's top 10) is less than a mile from the house. The medieval market town of Totnes is also less than 10 minutes drive with its many wonderful shops, cafes and restaurants. Totnes Station on the main line to London is less than 10 minutes drive and there are regular buses from the end of our road to the station or in the other direction towards Buckfastleigh and Ashburton. The apartment is also less than 10 minutes drive from the A38, the dual carriageway that links to the M5. The house was built in 1962 and was designed by modernist Arthur Grayson for the novelist and composer Bruce Montgomery. Montgomery was quite well known at the time and wrote the music for the first 6 Carry on movies. He was also a friend of Agatha Christie who apparently came to dinner at the house.Mehr lesen

Our stay at Ben's apartment was really pleasant. It is well eqipped and very cosy and the surroundings are quiet and beautiful. The arrival was uncomplicated and thanks to Ben's detailed description we found the house (which is a little remote) even without a SatNav. Totnes is a really good place to stay if you want to explore the southern part of Devon. A beautiful guest house on the edge of Dartmoor offering full board accommodation and guided walks into Dartmoor National Park, Devon, UK. The accommodation is a series of converted barns, restored to ensure your stay is both beautiful and tranquil. The site and the buildings were part of a working farm over 300 years ago. Based in heartland rural West Devon there is a strong farming community here, that gives it a unique character. The lush green valleys look out on to the dramatic Dartmoor National Park; a walker's paradise! Benefits of our remote location include our own source of fresh spring water, filtered by the woodland behind us and pumped straight up through the farm yard. We also burn sustainable fuel in the form of wood pellets for our heating. The rooms are a collection of old stables and a milking parlour that have been transformed into ensuite double and twin bedrooms. To ensure a comfortable and relaxing stay, each room is also equipped with Freeview television and DVD player, as well as WiFi (beware that the WiFi has adopted the region's pace of life!). As well as a spacious private bedroom, guests will enjoy access to all the outdoor space, which includes a big field and garden to relax in, a sun terrace and the old stone courtyard. Having grown up in West Devon and knowing the area well, there is a treasure trove of adventures to be had! I can help you with ideas as much as you would like. I also offer guided walks into the wild Dartmoor National Park where I can introduce you to the history and the culture of this unique landscape. Our neighbourhood is very quiet! We live down a private lane, tucked in front of a wood. It's beautiful! And at night the skies are dark and the stars are bright. The perfect antidote to your city neighbourhood! A car is the best way to get around. However we do offer a transfer service from the Exeter St Davids and Exeter Airport. See the website for more details. We are a family and whilst you stay with us we will do our best to make you feel welcome and at home. This is a very relaxing and calm base from which to explore Devon and Cornwall and we look forward to meeting you!Mehr lesen

The best located cottage in Kingsand (probably) for sea views and beaches, Storm Cottage is right on the sea wall with three private balconies with stunning sea views. Newly refurbished, the house is simply styled with a New England feel and touches of Cath Kidston and Mini Moderns. The living room is bathed in light and there are three pubs within 200 yds and two sandy/pebble safe beaches with clear rockpools. Kingsand is situated in Cornwall's forgotten corner - a ferry hop away from Plymouth. The house is an upside down house with the living space upstairs affording beautiful views of the historic Cawsand bay. The main bedroom has stunning sea views with an en-suite basement bathroom with rolltop bath and portholes out to the sea! The decor is calm and creamy Farrow and Ball with a New England feel, with small luxuries like Smeg and Dualit kitchen equipment and home furnishings from Cath Kidston and Mini Moderns, as well as Cornish brands like Seakisses and artist Helen Round. Our cabin style small bedroom with two singles works well for (good) kids too. They'll love being right next to two beaches, with a football sized yard outside. We have a sunny courtyard balcony to dine out on with sea views. For tech junkies we are fully broadbanded up with superfast wifi and a smart TV with DVD. All of the house, if required - with parking for three cars. We can help provide an arrival box of food (please discuss in advance) and help with where to eat etc. Or we can leave you totally alone! Kingsand is a very special place. Located in Cornwall's forgotten corner, it's a twin village is Cawsand. Its three beaches are safe and perfect for kids - and the bay, which looks out to Plymouth Sounds, is a favourite with yachties and swimmers. There are three great pubs, serving good food, a post office and 4 village shops. The village is full of higgledy-piggedly lanes with sea-salt washed pastel coloured Georgian cottages. Foot and car ferries travel regularly to Plymouth, and the majestic Royal William Yard. Dartmoor, Devon and the Eden Project are all with easy reach. By train, disembark at Plymouth or St Germans - and get a taxi to Kingsand. By car, take the Torpoint Ferry from Plymouth, or follow the A38 and turn off at the Trerulefoot roundabout just beyond Saltash. There are up to three parking spaces outside the cottage - and a public carpark 100 meters away. Please note 2 trips cancelled previously on AirBnB due to refurb work taking longer than anticipated. That work is now complete. No dogs due to owners allergies. Sorry! Access to the cottage parking is narrow. Nervous drivers or owners of lovely new cars may want to initially park in the public carpark - and size up the space first.Mehr lesen
