“Transportation to the National mall is easiest via Metro (take the Green/Yellow line to the Archives-Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter stop) or via Bus (take any of the S buses south toward downtown and ask the driver to recommend the closest stop).”

“Union Market is the epicenter of culinary creativity in the DC area. Open 7 days a week, this food-filled hall will be sure to be a food highlight of your trip! Whether a solo traveler, dining with your significant other, or joining friends and family, there are food and beverage options for everyone! One of our favorite weekly activities is heading to Union Market with friends and visiting 3-4 vendors to share with our friends. ”

Library
“ Not sure why it is being labeled as a library, but getting into the White House is only accessible through tours, which can be registered for online. However, if visitors would like to see the president’s residence from the outside, then it’s an easy walk down Pennsylvania Avenue NW between 15th St. NW and 17th St. NW. There, parties can take pictures with the White House in the backdrop and scream obscenities at, or praises for, Trump through the fence! ”

Capitol Building
“I haven't gotten a chance to take the tour of the US Capitol building but I've been told by everyone who has gone on it that it is awesome and better than the short one you get if you are able to get a tour of the Executive Mansion (The White House). The outside grounds are pretty.”

Friedhof
“This place is beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. It is the burial place of John F. Kennedy, home of the mesmerizing patrol at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and the historic home of Robert E. Lee that was seized by The Union as their burial place for soldiers during the Civil War after Robert E. Lee fled it. The placement of soldier's graves ensured he could not return and use the land as he once did and thus began the Arlington National Cemetery. ”

The 10-acre park curves along the Potomac River shoreline extending from 30th Street to 34th Street, N.W. The park is located directly across the river from Roosevelt Island, with views west towards Key Bridge and east towards the Kennedy Center and Memorial Bridge.”

Französisches Restaurant
$$$
“Bustling brasserie serves classic French fare & drinks amid a zinc bar, tile floors & sidewalk cafe. Washington Post Review by Tom Sietsema Here’s why it’s so hard to book a table at a decent hour at the city’s most popular French restaurant: the bread basket, generously filled with three flavors, including country wheat; the waiters in their long white aprons, there when you need them and quick to describe any dish to your satisfaction; a setting of pressed-tin ceilings, blood-red banquettes and honeyed lighting that could pass for a brasserie in the country of inspiration. Then there’s the food, textbook versions of onion soup, steak frites and apple tarte Tatin, plus daily specials that will make you glad to be there on, say, Friday for spot-on bouillabaisse. Who in town makes a lighter foie gras mousse, or a finer duck a l’orange, the skin of the leg fried so that it shatters under your teeth? Noise is the cochon at the party. Otherwise, I recognize the attraction of fans including Gérard Araud. If it’s good enough for the discerning French ambassador, it’s good enough for moi.”
