Life is a BEACH

Want to know where to get in the water?

If you’re staying in Warriewood, there are many surf beaches to choose from. Its always worth checking out the local conditions. I recommend using www.beachsafe.org.au .
Warriewood Beach is a small but beautiful beach which you reach via stairway or you can also drive down and park in marked spots. Its popular with surfers at its southern end and is patrolled by Council lifesavers during the week and volunteer surf life savers on the weekends. The beach has a new toilet block with change rooms and cold water showers. There’s also an outdoor communal shower at the edge of the sand. Its got a great cafe which does breakfast and lunch and fab coffee with views to Mona Vale

North Narra has a range of attractions: a rock pool, an ocean pool, a lagoon with impressive sand dunes with an effective sand stabilisation vegetation program - as well as huge expanses of water and sand. The strip of sand connecting Narrabeen Beach to Collaroy at the south is actually 4km long. It is home to 4 surf clubs. Narrabeen was the name of the local aboriginal chief’s daughter (c. 1840s) and Collaroy was named for the ship which was wrecked there on nearby Long Reef.

With the exception of Manly and Freshwater, the northern beaches of Sydney are not as busy as the world famous Bondi or others to the south. Up here you won’t have to fight for a patch of sand to lie on or park in the next suburb and walk back to your intended swim spot 😂. Turimetta offers next level calm and seclusion as you have to walk in - no car access at all. It’s not patrolled which you need to consider if you’re swimming but it’s got splendid rock shelves and pools to enjoy and explore.
