Food Scene

This place is just gorgeous. Fabulous, unusual menu with great fish selection (and good meaty options for those who don't do fish). Cracking Sunday lunch too.

This place is great for food AND cocktails. Big portions, so skip lunch and bring your appetite. Wonderful gin selection, and stays open quite late. Get yourself a table with a sea-view.

The best seafood you will ever taste. This local secret is a beach shack on the beach at Beesands and is BYOB. The food is the best in the area - you'll be talking about it for months on end. A must for fish-lovers.

It's more local to Salcombe than to Stoke Fleming, but it's worth the drive. Wonderful beach-front restaurant that's child and dog-friendly with a dressing up box and brilliant scallops.

If you absolutely MUST go to a club while you're here, it may as well be 'Coast'. It's not really the most salubrious of venues but it does stay open late and is reasonably inoffensive as nightclubs go. Anyone over the age of 20 will feel old. You've been warned.

Sightseeing

One of the most beautifully located fortresses in England. For over 600 years Dartmouth Castle has guarded the narrow entrance to the Dart Estuary and the busy, vibrant port of Dartmouth. It offers stunning views of the estuary and out to sea and offers a great family day out, whatever the weather.

Entertainment & Activities

Steam trains, boat trips and a paddle steamer - this is the only attraction in Devon that lets you enjoy the delights of Torquay, Paignton, Brixham, Dartmouth and the River Dart, Kingswear and Totnes. It's especially good for children, and those that love trains will be in seventh heaven.
