The Yadkin Valley in NC is the first federally approved American Viticulture Area that is ideal for growing exceptional grapes due to our soil and climate. Vineyards have replaced tobacco fields in many NC areas including Surry, Stokes, Wilkes, and Yadkin Counties. Other counties included in Yadkin Valley Wine country includes Davie, Davidson, and Forsyth. There are more than 40 wineries located in the Yadkin Valley of NC.
