A symbol like no other of Cordoba, the Mezquita-Cathedral (Cathedral-Mosque) is a must visit. Its construction began in the 8th century on the ruins of a Visigothic basilica, and during the stage when Cordoba was muslim, it underwent numerous renovations and expansions. In 1238 after the reconquista, it became a Christian Cathedral which now merges with a forest of columns and arches of Islamic style. You can also take a breath out in the patio de los naranjos and also go up to the top of the bell tower, the old minaret. (every 30 minutes/€2) -
