My favourite brunch places

A short 20 minute walk along the bridle path and through the village, to White Post Cafe. Lovely outdoor and indoor breakfasts, brunch and lunches. Dogs welcome. It's also next to a plant nursery and small craft shop too. See the menus here https://www.whitepostcafe.com/menus

My favourite lunch or evening restaurant and cocktail bar

Fantastic pizza's and Italian speciality dishes, fresh salads and amazing deserts. The cocktails are delicious too! Only 5 minutes by car, or a scenic 40 minute walk across the fields - doggies welcome... The Pump House is a venue which has been lovingly-restored by Stefano using mainly upcycled & recycled materials. We are open Wednesday to Sunday both with indoor and outdoor tables in our heated/covered area. Go to www.stefanosfood.co.uk for full opening times

One of my favourite local cafe restaurants

Braziers serve lovely, tasty dishes lunchtimes and evenings. You can see the menu here www.braiziercoffeeeroasters.co.uk. Their menu is fresh, local and high quality. We cater for all dietary requirements. A short 5 minute drive, or a beautiful 50 minute walk from the farm, and doggies are welcome. Nestled in an historic red brick former textile mill is the heart of our operation. Here green beans arrive from all over the world and continue their journey from our roastery. In our adjacent flagship roastery cafe, sample our eclectic antipodean menu and world class coffee. Our speciality coffee and at-home brew equipment is available to purchase in our roastery cafe, where our knowledgable baristas will gladly assist.

My favourite local pub with good food too!

A 20 minute stroll along the bridle path to the village church and on to The Martlet Inn for lunch or dinner. A traditional country pub, with really great food and very local, in Langford Budville. Go here www.themartletinn.co.uk

Located near to the village Jubilee Hall, Langford Heathfield is the 2nd largest nature reserve owned by the Wildlife Trust. We are sooooooo lucky to have this as part of our village amenities.

My favourite walks

A 20 minute drive takes you to Rewe Mead nature reserve, on the River Tone. Lovely place to walk, meet nature or dip in the river on heady hot days

This is one of my daily walks - come sun or rain! The sounds of the ancient woodland just fill me with joy, and the smells are divine! Just 5 mins by car or a 20 min walk to Langford Budville, Langford Heathfield or the 'common' is owned by the Wildlife Trust and is the 2nd largest nature reserve they own. There is an abundance of ancient woodland, scrub land, heathland and secondary woodland: a perfect habitat for birds, butterflies, insects and reptiles. In the summer months, Dartmoor ponies graze freely on the scrubland. We are so lucky to have this remarkable nature reserve right on our doorstep. Here is a link to the Trusts page about the Common https://www.somersetwildlife.org/nature-reserves/langford-heathfield
