Wineries

Our favorite view with a selection of great wines, including flight tastings. The outdoor areas are dog friendly! On our recommended wine tour, check this out last for the most spectacular views in the area (but arrive by 4:30 or so and reservations may be required).

The Skyline Drive runs 105 miles north and south along the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Shenandoah National Park and is the only public road through the Park. It takes about three hours to travel the entire length of the Park on a clear day, but you'll want to make some stops for the fantastic views. The entrance to skyline drive is just 15 minutes away and a perfect way to spend a fall weekend afternoon.

Old Rag Mountain is one of the most popular hiking destinations in Shenandoah and even though it's a bit of a commitment to both get there (about an hour drive from Linden/Front Royal) and complete, it's well worth the spectacular views. Keep in mind this one can get busy, so we recommend checking out during the week if possible and double-check on the NPS website if a park pass and/or other documents are needed. And, sorry no pups allowed on most trails!
