Local Gastropub with high class eats! Ask for the specials. Stopped in for a late lunch and we had Prime rib right off the grill. Perfectly Smokey and seriously delicious. Daily Specials and Live music. Specials: they also had lobster, steak, and salmon off the grill 💯 You have to get the sweet potato fries. So crispy and yummy.

Hot Springs

Naturally occurring hot springs and next to the river! 15 minutes drive from our house. I don’t want to tell you about it. As it is a locals place. But it is our favorite thing to do- morning, noon, and evening. Soak in these hot springs.

Gorgeous pools right next to the Kern river. Naturally occurring hot springs in an old gold mining area. The locals cleans the pools twice a week. Surrounding area is picturesque. You park at the top of the hill and have to hike down to the hot spring. It is well worth it. The river provides a refreshing cold soak after deliciously heating up in the hot spring. River currents are strong and can be dangerous. Please be aware of your surroundings. Best time to come is really early or very late in the day to avoid the crowds. Everyone is very friendly!

Spend an afternoon at riverside park! The perfect place to cool off. Very popular for river tubing during the summer. Grab some tubes from the local store and head over to the river. There’s a convenient path from the top of the park where you float to the bottom where you get out. We can spend half the day here, easily. Location is walkable to Central Kernville- shops, bars, restaurants, yogurt. So much fun!
