Smoky Mountains Things to Do!

When I first started coming to the Smokies, I started a Pinterest board of all the things I was interested in doing, seeing, eating and drinking! From pancakes to moonshine, hiking, ghost tours, putt-putt, mountain coasters, seeing wildlife and Titanic artifacts--if you leave The Smokies bored or hungry, it's your own fault! Here's my Pinterest page to some blogs of some of my favorite things to do: https://pin.it/AcCjoUz
I fell in love with Gatlinburg my first trip to the Smokies and came back five times over the next 18 months. There is stuff to do for all ages and interests! I love walking the strip and getting some ice cream or fresh fudge! Shopping: Check out Mountain Mall for some new boots or a hat. The Village has some great shops! Eats: Pancake Pantry is good, but get in line before they open! There's always a line! My personal favorite breakfast spot is Crockett's. If you can get a reservation, Wild Plum Tea Room is outstanding! Things To Do With Kids: Check out Ripley's Aquarium or go on a ghost tour after dark! Head up the mountain to Ober Gatlinburg for snow skiing and winter activities like snow tubing and ice skating or head over to Anakeesta for stunning views and family friendly activities. Things To Do Without Kids: Head over to Ole Red's (Blake Shelton's bar) at the end of the strip for a beer and some live music. If you're into the sipping' scene, Sugarland's is my favvvvvorite place to sip moonshine flights out of communion cups! Go to the back porch and listen to the music after your flight and order a Maple Bacon Bloody Mary! YUM! But Ole Smoky has the best live music stage outside that is FREE!!

All the coolest museums and attractions are in Pigeon Forge! Here are some of my favorites! Activities: The Island, Paula Deen's Lumberjack Adventure, The Titanic Museum, Alcatraz East Crime Museum, Dollywood, Parrot Mountain Eats: The Island, Local Goat, Lil' Black Bear Cafe; Also check out one of the dinner shows! I've been to Dixie Stampede several times and also Pirates Voyage Dinner Show. Hatfield and McCoys is supposed to be great as well, but I haven't done that one yet.

Sightseeing

Absolutely recommend!!! Pay $1 at the entrance to the park and pick up the tour book. This is a 13 mile driving loop and one of the top places in the entire country to see bears in their natural habitat when they aren't hibernating. You'll stop along the way to look at primitive homes and churches and graveyards along the way. There are also a lot of trail heads around here if you are into hiking. Pack a picnic and make a day of it! Or at least a half day...

Amazing views! Even though this hike is paved, it is not ADA accessible. It's more strenuous than you would expect, but the views are incredible!

If hiking isn't your scene...or even if it is...take a drive through Roaring Fork Motor Trail to get acquainted with nature without having to leave your car! Absolutely gorgeous drive with waterfalls and scenic views.

One of the best waterfall hikes in the Smokies. It's 2.3 miles round trip and rated "easy" for difficulty.
