Great Saturday market, you can take your doggie for a walk around, great for food and plants, not as touristy as Eumundi Markets, frequented by locals

Great walk from La Balsa Park, up to the lighthouse and down to the beach on the other side. Pop over to Mooloolaba fish and market for fresh fish and chips (not quite as good as Noosa Fish Market, but almost)

Sunshine Beach is a gorgeous swimming beach and to the left you will find a dog friendly section. There is an entrance to the Noosa National Park - please be aware no pets allowed in the National Parks. They are safe havens for wildlife. There are also lots of fabulous eateries in the main strip, Duke St. We can recommend Embassy XO.

This is a great spot to try some local craft beers, live music and local food trucks. The littlies will enjoy the petting zoo (Saturdays) and running around on the large grassy area. Pet friendly, yay!

The best fish and chips ever - go for the grilled snapper or whatever is fresh on the day, choose by weight, add some calamari and crispy chips. Happy hour between 4-6pm for cold beer $6 or a glass of wine $7. Settle down at a table outside and yes, you can take your dogg-o.

Yummy food at Embassy XO, my favourite dish is the steamed market fish fillet. It's best to call and book a table, if you book online, you have to enter credit card deets and there is a cancellation fee.

Can't go past Raw + Rice in Noosa for a yummy poke bowl, wander down to the beach, sit under the trees and enjoy. NB long queues there in holiday season but a new store in Gympie Terrace is a great option. Loads of tables and benches to sit and enjoy river life.

Fabulous, quintessential Aussie pub set in large grounds. There’s often live music on Wednesday and Sundays. Loads of space for the kids to play. And dogs are super welcome too. About 20-25 mins drive. Be sure to drive a little further to Boreen Point for a walk along Lake Cootharaba.

If you're up for a gentle hike head to Mt Ninderry, a 26 minute drive, for some stunning views of the coast and hinterland. Afterwards, you might like to explore nearby Yandina, have a dip at Coolum Beach, or if it's market day (Wed and Sat) stop off in Eumundi.

Dog friendly beaches

Great beach spot that is dog friendly and not too busy. There is parking on both sides of the road, toilets, showers and a nifty hose to wash your dog before jumping in the car.

Another awesome dog beach, that extends from the beach entrance 500m south of the Twin Waters patrolled area all the way to the Maroochy River. Enjoy both the river, mangroves and the surf beach. It's about a 40 minute drive, there are toilets and showers but no dedicated hose for the dogs. Stop at Coolum, Peregian or Noosa on the way back.

A great little local spot, open Tue-Sun till 2pm. There is often live music at the weekend. Another great spot to take your best buddy (and your doggie). Pick up some tomatoes on the way back from Noosa Reds, just across the way on Beddington Dri. You'll need some cash - $6 a bag, drop your money in the cash box.
