Nola is a great restaurant that does everything well, food, music, COFFEE, mixed drinks, you name it. It's my favorite place in Frederick. It's about 8 blocks from my place, well work the walk.

Really excellent food and beer, and a unique atmostphere. A little bit hidden away, tourists don't usually find it :)

This is just a block from the house. Excellent Vietnamese food. You can eat in the restaurant, or carry it out and save delviery fee. Used to be called Lucky Corner, a Frederick institution.

Brand new restaurant with really interesting interior! Asian fusion fare, great service, try it out! You may need a reservation, and they close in the middle of the day.

You'll need to drive to the Red Horse and you'll be transported back to about 1975, which might be when it opened. But the steaks are amazing, service is really good. Probably the oldest restaurant in Frederick.

Frederick has accommodated vegetarians for decades, this is one of the oldest restaurants downtown. Absolutely delicious, even if you're not a vegetarian!

If you're a Top Chef fan you may know who Brian Voltaggio is, and he owns this place and sometimes is around. I have not yet visited this iteration, it used to be Volt and was a destination restaurant. Thatcher and Rye is a little more affordable that Volt was, but probably still very special. Lots of outdoor seating, reservations might be a good idea.

The food is really good and often overlooked, because this bar can get loud and crazy. But what I like best about Bushwaller's is that it is always, and I mean, always open. Snowstorm- open. Hurricane- open. Thanksgiving and Christmas- open although not till 5 or so. Bushwaller's is reliable.

I don't like loud, crazy bars. This is a bar for grown ups.
