This place has the best karaoke on Friday nights! It's really laid back and the people are nice and non-judgmental. They also have live music on Saturday's - and it's only about 7 minutes away from the house!

Dueling Piano bar - great place downtown to hang out and listen to some amazingly talented people play pianos and drums and guitars and sing - and dance! Drinks are reasonably priced and it's within walking distance to other local bars and eateries.

Parks & Nature
This park is only 5 minutes away from our house and has many pavement and off-pavement paths. You can literally spend hours walking here, and much of it is shaded for those hot days. We also have bikes available for use if you would rather ride :).

You can drive through and see all kinds of wildlife from Zebras to Giraffes to Hippos, etc. There is a fee to enter the park, and they give you bags of food that you can feed to animals out your window - there's also a place to stop and go mingle with the goats.

Spend the day tubing down the Guadalupe river - bring some snacks and drinks (alcohol IS allowed on the river!). Several miles of river with some fun spots that have rapids. We have plenty of tubes to share also, so you don't need to rent/buy those. One fee and you can go multiple times until it gets dark. Great way to cool off and relax.

You can take a boat ride tour along the Riverwalk with a guide who has a plethora of information on the history of San Antonio. There is also a mall, tons of places to eat, outdoor music at times and great scenery for walking in general.
