Faded Victorian seaside resort still retaining some charm despite the local council's amateurish efforts at regeneration. Check out the "Cooling Towers" architectural folly and Damian Hirst's quayside statue for a laugh. The harbour is spectacular - set within high cliffs - boat rides, fishing, restaurants and cafes. A good place to come with the kids when its raining. Ferry to Lundy Island.
