Edo's is one of my favorite places in Richmond. It is always packed, so try to either call ahead, make reservations, or try to grab a seat at the bar. All of their dishes are great and portions are pretty large. I always end up taking some leftovers home. There's a good chance you'll be shoulder to shoulder with the table next to you, but that's part of the vibe. Overall it's a really cool "hidden" setting. Highly recommend!

One of many Lamplighter locations, this is the original and my favorite. They have delicious coffee and teas, as well as amazing breakfast & lunch sandwiches. Great patio for groups. Dog friendly. Easy access with stroller. Can get a little busy on nice days, but worth the wait.

Parks & Nature

This historic 30-acre park offers stunning 180-degree views of the city and was once home to Chimborazo Hospital, the largest Confederate hospital during the Civil War. The park house on the eastern edge of the park can be rented for small meetings or events, and the popular Church Hill Dog Park is located on the eastern lower terrace of the park. The Dog Park includes two areas: one for large dogs and one for small dogs. The Chimborazo Playground, located just one block from the park, was renovated in 2009. It also includes a community garden.

Part of the James River Park System, the main access to Belle Isle is by pedestrian footbridge from Tredegar St. on the north shore. Large flat rocks surrounding the island make for good sunbathing. Additional features include wooded trails, mountain biking trails, interpreted historical sites, wheelchair-accessible fishing at the quarry pond, and a granite wall for rock climbing.

Scott's Addition is chock full of breweries and is a great place to walk around to do your own brewery crawl! I recommend starting at The Veil, then hitting Ardent, Isley, Buskey Cider, Blue Bee Cider, Three Notch'd and then head over to Hardywood to finish the tour.
