Amazing excursion, take the steam boat tour across the loch which is mind blowing. You can also hire bikes an take them across and then cycle the 19 miles back. To do this you need to get the early boat which leaves at 10.30 am. It is advisable to book online or by phone before you go. There are also afternoon sailings and plenty of places to cycle to if you don't do the main morning excursion. No public transport to this location so you will need a car.

By train, you get a train from Clydebank to Balloch and then get the 309 bus towards Balmaha. If doing the hill in the afternoon make sure you leave time to catch the last buses back to Balloch.
