Everything about El Nido: the local attractions and activities
El Nido is known for its amazing view that’s beautiful you’d love to have it framed on your wall; It has 45 islands and islets , and it is known for its limestone cliffs, crystal clear sea water, and white-sand beaches. You can reach the beautiful island of El Nido, either by booking a plane ticket bound to Puerto Princesa City, the capital of Palawan, or by taking one of the Airswift’s direct flights from Manila to El Nido. If you’ll book a flight to Puerto Princesa, you need to travel for 5-6hrs bus or public van ride to El Nido. On the other hand, if you’ll take airswift, you don’t need to travel that long; there are at least 2 stopovers en route to El Nido, and your last stop would be at the El Nido Public Terminal. You can take a tricycle from the terminal going to your hotel (bnb); if you booked Rodriguez Lodge, our lodge is located at Amboy Street, Bgy. Maligaya, Zone 1, and our usual instruction to our guests is to mention “First Consolidated Bank (FCB)” , because that is a very popular landmark near Rodriguez Lodge. Once you are in El Nido, you can do a lot of activities; if you love to swim, you can book your island tours from local travel agents, or at your hotel lobby. Among the A-B-C-D island tour packages, my favorite places are Big Lagoon, Pinagbuyutan Beach, Helicopter Island, and Snake island; big lagoon is part of Tour A, last December 2018, guests are only allowed to visit one lagoon per day, so the guest must book ahead of time if he/she plans to visit Big or small lagoon because the slots are very limited—the first 100 people shall be allowed to visit small and big lagoons daily. The other local attractions are the Nacpan Beach, Duli Surfing area, Sibaltan and Buluang beaches, las cabanas beach, lio estate, and Nagkalit waterfalls; these places can be reached by a motorbike, a tricycle, or a van. You can rent a motorbike for 500php , and you can use it for a day (8am to 5pm) , or rent a tricycle for 1,200php to 1,500php, or a 15-seater van for 2,500php to 3,000php. If you love seafoods and beach party, you can visit the El Nido Bacuit bay(front beach) , where you can find many restaurants, bars , souvenir shops , and cafes; for beach party, the most popular one is at the Pukka Bar, Zone III;however, if you are looking for a place to relax and meditate , you can try the Bird's house. Bird's house is located at Las Cabanas beach and from the town, you must take a tricycle(fare:150php/trip) and take a little trek for 20mins.
