The truly iconic Notre Dame college bar. They serve over-sized, over-poured, cheap drinks to get you where you want to go fast. Smells like beer and your feet stick to the floor, but filled with folks of all ages (I guess it's those who never really left the college bar scene). It can get really crazy on ND home game weekends, so if you want to party like a college kid, you need to stop there. It's also just 4 blocks from the house...

Martin's isn't just a great supermarket. Their prepared foods, like fried chicken, pulled pork, fresh paninis, etc. are a great choice to stock up for tailgating or other events.

A South Bend classic. Family owned and operated since 1951, there is no doubt you're in an authentic Italian restaurant when you're at Rocco's. Nothing fancy. Nothing pretentious. Amazing pizza. Incredible pasta. Served in a homelike environment by people who make you feel like family. For ND football fans, the walls are covered with an amazing collection of memorabilia. Worth visiting just to soak in the history.

Amazing pizza. Incredible pasta. Served in a homelike environment by people who make you feel like family. For ND football fans, the walls are covered with an amazing collection of memorabilia. Worth visiting just to soak in the history.
Fiddler's is an Irish Public House located in downtown South Bend. The have a lot of live music (almost exclusively Celtic), authentic Irish food and a massive selection of Irish beers and Scotch. It's very cozy and they do a great job of making you feel like you're in an actual Celtic Public House. They also manage to do that while making it family friendly. Not sure you want to keep the kids their until bar closing on a weekend, but they do provide board games, cards and puzzles for fun.

It's very cozy and they do a great job of making you feel like you're in an actual Celtic Public House. They also manage to do that while making it family friendly. Not sure you want to keep the kids their until bar closing on a weekend, but they do provide board games, cards and puzzles for fun.

It's a Micro Brewery that has a lot of character and is the same owner as the Cordance Tavern and Jesus Latin Grill & Tequila Bar, so the food and experience is outstanding. It's bar food with a unique, kind-of-fancy, twist to it. They also do a Lightning Lunch and Sunday Hangover Brunch where they serve an all-you-can-eat buffet with all of their menu items in small plate format. A great way to try all the unique entrees.

They fill the zoo with micro brewers and you walk around sampling craft beer all night. Another favorite is Zoo Boo at Halloween. Parents bring their kids in costumes and trick or treat in the zoo.
