Island food scene
Sundae Café is my favorite restaurant on the island. Where I eat most meals when I'm in town. The daily lunch specials are excellent, and the best value on the island. Specials change daily, depending on the day of the week (see website). Lunch ends @ 2pm & dinner starts around 4pm.
Reservations are highly recommended for dinner--912•786•7694. Dinner only on Saturdays & closed on Sundays. Note: they've had weird hours lately...like closing on the occasional Monday.

Try the yummy blackened salmon. It’s my go-to meal whenever Sundae Cafe is closed. Like a lot of restaurants on Tybee, the coleslaw is meh 🫤 Sundae Café's slaw is delicious btw.

Hands down the best pizza on Tybee! Really excellent...similar to Vinnies downtown. Great place to relax after a long day on the beach.

Salt Island has been recommended by several guests. I’ve had good food and great service both times I’ve visited. However, I plan to visit more before writing a detailed recommendation.
My only criticism is the lunch sandwiches. The focaccia bread used was fine, but it took away from the deliciousness of the grilled fish. I usually get the Kahlúa Pig, its very good.

An excellent Kroger. They have everything! Including a wine bar. If Tybee’s IGA Market doesn’t have what you need then Kroger certainly will.

They are located at the intersection of Van Horne and Fort Streets, between the Police Station and River's End Campground and RV Park. The fenced enclosure allows your dog to enjoy time off-leash. Open from dawn till dusk. Please use the parking spaces (free parking) on Van Horne and do not park in the police impound lot. Limit of two dogs per handler.
