Beautiful views at the top. Great place to do stargazing too at night You can drive up to Mount John, or walk up (a bit steep). A really nice walk to do it's to actually do the mount John loop. Start next to tekapo Springs

Beautiful place for many reasons! Amazing views and also plenty of hikes to do. A really popular hike is the Hooker Valley trail (pretty flat walk through 3 swing bridges}. Can be started from the hermitage hotel or from the camping ground car park. Really nice views of the hooker glacier at the end . The track has been redone few times and you have some pick nick tables next to the hooker lake. You will also get pretty close to mount cook and can get some stunnings photos if the weather is good. Smaller walk: Kea point and Red Tarn (really steep but stunning views at the top) If you do like to go hiking for hours, I would recommend Mueller Hut. Around 5h from the hermitage hotel if you are a good walker :) The glacier explorer is a must do when there is plenty of icebergs on the lake! Good way to explore the place is also to catch a flight :) I can tell you so much about this place, as I spent 5 years of my life in Mount Cook Village/ LOved this place!

Really nice place to soak in the water or even to have a massage. 3 hot pools and 2 cooler ones Guests also enjoy using the ice skating in winter as well as the snow tubing. In summer they have big slides open and a bit bungy castle .
