Worm is an off-beat center for non-conformist art and initiative. It has a great bar called WUNDERBAR and tends to a huge variety of sub- and anti-cultures. It is vegetarian and vegan friendly and has a great vibe. The only two things that may be a bit odd is the choice of music (occasionally horrible) and their toilets, which are repurposed water tanks. No joke!

Also, there is a fantastic view of the Rotterdam skyline!

A cheap-and-tasty joint where you can get great pizza and burgers for a very friendly price. The decor might be old-fashioned, but they have good beers and good prices and the place feels cosy.

One of the earliest adopters of the booming coffee scene, this place is well known for its great coffee and sunny (but small) terrace. A good spot to see a lot of locals at one of the liveliest streets of Rotterdam - the Nieuwe Binnenweg.

Arts & Culture
I always skip the permanent exhibition, since I find a lot of stuff there dusty and uninteresting, but it's a rich collection of classics. The modern section, however, is amazing, with very interesting temporary exhibits and some great modern pieces on permanent display. 'Let Your Hair Down' by Pipilotti Rist is a hidden gem. My favourite!
