Boat Tours and beach

BigTree Mangrove Tour We have great feedback from our guest that had their tour arranged by us. Our chartered boat tour comes with the tide conditions that plays a significant part for the tour. This tour is best when the tide conditions is favorable as some of the places is not accessible when the tide is not right. There are many Mangrove Tour being offered in Pulau Langkawi that comes with variations of package. Basically they are the same but only differs in names and where your boarding points is. We have experienced all of them and had decided on the best package for the tour. The best boarding points will be at Tanjung Rhu Mangrove Tour Jetty. Its a bit far in comparison with other boarding points from BigTree, but we chose it because it offers more scenic cruise along the narrow rivers with close proximity to the old limestone drops. Taking the boat at the jetty, the tour begins with the cruise along the river towards the eagles feeding area. You will see eagles scooping down for food. Your next adventure will be the monkey feeding area. if you are comfortable feeding them you can bring along some fresh bananas. They will swim towards you or you can throw the bananas at the river banks and watch them make their catch. Please remain calm and if you are not comfortable doing so, you can watch other tourist doing so. It would be fun for the whole family. Next stop will be the Bat Cave. There is an entrance fee of MYR 2 for adults and a torch light will cost you MYR 1. There are walkways with guardrails where you can have a closer look at the Mangrove Tree. Their webbing roots that provide sanctuary for breeding and at the same time provide a buffers against erosion. There are caves where you can see bats hanging upside down sleeping. Stalagtides hovering over you and the Stalagmites deposited on the floors. T some places they have been connected to form columns. Next, you will take the boat to the iconic landmark of 'KILIM GEOFOREST PARK' area. Obviously you mustn't lose the chance for your photo session. A picture with the iconic landmarks would make a great memorable moments for you in Langkawi. The last phase of your tour is where you will be taken across the open sea towards the Fish Farm area. You will cruise by the fringes of the bay, on your starboard(right) side will be the Andaman sea. You will have an option not to brave the sea and take the route back towards the fish farm area. The last stop will be at the Fish Farm area. You will see many kinds of fish kept in cages on the floating platform. There are friendly fish that you can feed with your own hands. We even have a pet fish, a leopard shark named Isabella. Watch the feeding frenzy of the Giant Trevally. You will take the last ride on the boat to the jetty. Our Mr Rhazif can accompany you for the tour if he is free and available.

Pantai Pasir Tengkorak aka Sandy Skull Beach is some 40 minutes drive away from BigTree. One of our favorite picnic spot for the whole family. Be there few hours before the high tide and usher in the crystal clear warm water at the beach

Driving around the island

Go easy on your gas pedal. There are lots of junction with motorbikes and bicycles crossing into your path. Lots of tourist too fiddling with their cell phones for unfamiliar roads maps and direction.
