Newly renovated and spectacular, Pac Fair (as the locals call it) is the most modern and largest shopping centre on the coast. Only 30 minutes from here by public transport (bus & tram) or about the same in a car!

The only big one on the Coast. Has everything any other Casino has, probably a bit worn in parts, but the newly renovated Garden Restaurant & Bar is million dollar spectacular. Any restaurant that lasts on the Coast is because the food is good and priced right. This one is nice.

I frequent this one because i like the Thai food and the lady that runs it, she's old school and gives good service with a smile. She proudly told me she now has a liquor licence (who would have known she didn't). Its not a far drive from home either.

The best Indian ever. I know the owner very well and know how fussy he is about the food. Service can be a little light sometimes, so don't be in a hurry for a curry! Easy to get to as the tram stop is across the road. A short walk from Broadbeach shops and the Casino.

So much happens here. You'll see Surfing, skidoo-ing and dog walkers, divers, boating, fishing, running, and for many a walk along the trail to Main Beach and back.

This is a flat water beach about 8kms away. Many people walk it or swim. Pelicans feed around 1pm. There is a great fish shop, which sells all kinds of fresh fish, and cooked fish and chips etc., a little on the expensive side though.

Another fabulous place to hike. You need a car to get there and it's a day trip. I would take food and drink, however it will have a cafe.

This is where it all started on the Gold Coast. Back in the day people had grown up pajama parties, and wore bikinis before they were 'allowed'.
The beaches are clean and beautiful. The food is ok, bit touristy.
The clubs play good music that the crowd likes, not the DJ. The bars are friendly and many. Waxey's is a local place to go. There are rules to drinking and some clubs can't let you in after 2 or 3pm.
You can catch trams and buses, it also has a latenight bus.
