Because its so close to the condo and everyone knows Camelback Mountian. Take the Cholla Trail (east side of Camelback not to be confused with Echo Canyon Trail). Just go west on Chaparral (north of the condo) and north on Invergordon Road Cholla Street. Turn left and follow the crowd up the mountain. Parking is limited after 8 am. but you can walk from the condo. North on 68th, west on Chaparral and North on Invergordon to Cholla Street, then follow the crowd. Be ware, this can be intense even in springtime due to altitude gain, sun and or course, more sun.
YOU MUST BRING WATER. YOU CAN'T HAVE TOO MUCH WATER FOR THIS HIKE AS THEY ARE ALWAYS RESCUING PEOLPLE WITH DEHYDRATION!

This makes a nice half-day trip to a nearby desert lake. There is a humble restaurant overlooking the lake (hamburgers, etc.). Drive back along the Salt River and end your trip in Mesa near the Loop 101 Freeway.

Famous "Soleri Bells" made here. Its a hidden little treasure for the artsy folks right here in Paradise Valley. It only take a few minutes to see this quirky place and you might enjoy the quiescence and feel creative. As a bookend to this trip, you can also visit the famous Paolo Soleri bridge (walking) located at SW corner of Scottsdale Road and Camelback Rd. Approach from the to the canal to the west so you walk over this $7.5 million bridge the City of Scottsdale paid for. Nice work if you can get it!

Sightseeing
This makes a great day trip to an amazing old mining town perched on top of a dramatic hilltop overlooking Cottonwood valley. Its now full of shops and restaurants and at least one pretty intense biker bar. Can be combined with a trip through Pescott or even Sedona.
