Check out Red Rock Canyon for hiking or maybe just a scenic drive. Be careful in summer months it gets very hot and there is no shade anywhere.

You can hike or even actually go snowboarding/skiing (in winter months) just 30 min away. I enjoy a hike up here when it is too hot for Red Rock. Higher elevation so it is always cooer up here.

Uber is your best bet most of the time.
Uber for most things. However you can get a bus pass while on the strip unlimited for 24 hrs i believe is only $5 if you are in no rush it could be an option
