The drive out to Man O War bay on the Eastern most tip of the island provides excellent views. A part of the drive is gravel, so for smaller cars it may be a bumpy ride. Once there they have a wonderful grass area for kids to play while adults sample a platter and taste some beautiful wines. We especially like the 'Exciled' Pinot Gris and the story behind the grape harvest on neighboring Ponui Island. Like most Waiheke vineyards the Syrah is wonderful. Try a Dreadnought!

A small boutique vineyard that produces big reds! A great history of NZ wine making. Like its neighbor at Stoney Ridge they produce an amazing Cabernet blend. The best wine is pricey, but worth it for the cellar enthusiasts.

Perfect for a day trip, set back from a sheltered swimming beach. Birdwatchers can spot kererū, tūī, pīwakawaka (fantail) and tūturiwhatu (New Zealand dotterel) in the wetlands and along the coast, while kayakers can explore nearby inlets and bays. The parkland has a history of Māori and European settlement, with a pā site and terraces still visible on the headland. In the 1830s it was used for boat building and forestry by Pākehā settlers.
