Food Scene

Michelin Chef Vincent creates a prefix menu in a family dining setting with ingredients sourced from their own gardens and orchards, and local vendors. Be sure to make reservations in advance. We love to sit up at the counter seating so that we can watch the food preparations and chat with the chef.

This is a wonderful destination bike ride or drive cafe and coffee house in the woods. The newly renovated dining and outdoor seating areas are really quite stunning and the coffee is to buy and take home with you!

The Spyhop is our local pub style hamburgers and fish and chips venue in a relaxed setting. There's a bar too and televisions with the current sport showing. It's in Langley and a great stop before going to the Clyde to see a first run film. No reservations required. Relaxed and fun.

This is one of coolest coffee shops you'll find anywhere. Another coffee to buy and take home by the bag. The breakfast and lunch fare is quite good. Outdoor seating is perfect when festivals are in town like Djangofest since there is a performance venue.

Browse the used books, which are for sale, with a cup of coffee and a sweet treat. Lunch is served too, soups, quiche, sandwiches and salads. Ice cream cones too. Yum! A perfect destination for a walk into Langley. One of my favorites.

Parks & Nature

Double Bluff beach park is a local favorite. When the tides out you can make a beach hike in the morning. It's about 4 miles round trip. Just hanging out on the beach is spectacular too. It's especially nice with children, lots of sand, beach wood, rocks and some shells to collect.

Essentials

Don't miss going to The Star Store grocery and mercantile. It's a favorite of everyone who's ever visited Langley. They specialize in organic foods, have a wonderful deli for sandwiched and take out, with wine selection is outstanding. Don't miss the mercantile with stylish clothing and kitchen wares. I just love the Star Store!

See whale and other skeletons and learn about the migration of the whales in our little sleepy hollow. The museum docents are highly informed and dedicated to the whales. Every spring the grays visit our shores to rest and dine on the abundant ghost shrimp. (Whale sight seeing trips are available form Langley Marina too.) This is a fun stop for kids, be ready mom and dad, there are some fun stuffed animals, puppets and memorabilia !

The Historical Society is active in our area where there actually is quite a bit of northwest history to link with the regional development and maritime history of the northwest. Historical placards are present on our buildings and there is a small museum with images and text telling the story of Langley's history.

Museo is one of the best galleries in the region featuring contemporary art and fine art crafts. I am a lot biased since I have the honor of showing my own work at Museo. I hope you will stop in an enjoy the monthly changing exhibitions.
