10 minute drive along the express way from Waikanae Beach. More cafes, there are also tours you can do out to Kapiti Island. There is an airport in Paraparaumu which run flights (Air Chatams) to Auckland, otherwise you can book in scenic flights with an instructor for something a bit different!
Paraparaumu township also has a small mall - Coastlands and a train station.
