Whitstable is a great little town to visit. It is still a working fishing town as you will see when you walk through the harbour. Great for lunch, dinner and drinks or get yourselves some fish'n'Chips and sit on the beach. The sunsets are amazing from the beach. And the shopping is great too. Check out the Whitstable website for dates on up coming events like the Oyster Festival etc. Whitstable is famous for it's fresh Oysters. Go to The Neptune for drinks and good pub food on the beach

A trip to Broadstairs makes for a great day out. Sandy beaches, ice creams, fish'n'Chips, coastal walks and great for a drive along the coast. Pop into Josh Bay if you have the time and out to Reculver for cliff walks and a spot of lunch or drink at the pub.

Deal is a lovely coastal town to visit. Just wonder around and enjoy the colourful houses down the alleyways, check out the quirky shops, visit the 2 castles in Walmer and take a stroll out on the Pier. There's a nice restaurant at the end The Pier Kitchen

While visiting the historic city of Canterbury take some time to pop into Westgate Gardens. It's always so beautiful and perfect for a little rest from the shops, restaurants, pubs, street entertainment and all that the lovely city of Canterbury has to offer. You can even go punting on the river stour. What's not to love about my lovely city :) There's just so much to see and do here. So enjoy.

I love a visit to Westgate on sea. it's a small little place with a Sandy beach great for kids as they can make sand castles, eat ice creams and paddle in the sea. Good little cafe on the breach front. Nice area for a long walk along the sea front. Wonder into the high street to see the promenade of victorian canopy shops.

Food Scene

While visiting Whitstable I do like a visit to the East Kent on Oxford Street. Great food, lovely alfresco dining area in the back (with heaters very useful when it's cold) A pleasant atmosphere and good service. It's away from the busy centre and they don't have a car park but you can park on the surrounding streets. There is a bus stop close by.

St Dunstan's area in Canterbury is by the Westgate Towers and not far from the high street. Here you will find a selection of nice pubs, cafe's and restaurants. Most tourists tend to stay in the centre of town but if you wonder through the towers or down the little side streets you will find a whole host of interesting places and architecture. This lovely little restaurant being just one place :)

Canterbury City - If you want to escape the high street for a while and enjoy some food, maybe a glass of wine or cocktail then pop up to the Citi Terrace. A nice quiet sun spot with comfy armchairs my go to place when I need a rest from shopping. But of course you are in Canterbury so you are spoiled for choice :)

For those of you staying in our mobile home LeVan at Seaview taking a stroll along the sea front in the evening to The Hampton Inn is just the perfect place to sit enjoy a glass or two of wine and just take in the most amazing sunsets. The food there is good also. If you don't get a table outside just sip your wine sitting on the sea wall. Great photography from here. (You can thank me later!) If you don't want to walk there is a pay and display car park very close by.

Public transport

Public transport is an easy way to get to all the places I have mentioned in my guidebook. You can take the local buses by getting information from Stagecoach website and train information from trainline wesite. All of the places mentioned have pay and display car parking. Not all the machines take cash I use the Ringo app for convenience. You can pay by contactless on the bus. It is always cheaper to get a return ticket when traveling on public transport. Have a great day out whatever you choose to do ☺️
